I was under the opinion that the public defender's office was staffed with salaried attorneys. I didn't think that they billed for services...
its a court imposed fee. i think it is allotted for the public defenders office. but is is definitely for the atty fees.
and that sucks SJ.
abuse of power.

this was 4 years ago, and now i find out!?

just when i get my finances under control i get a curveball to left field.
lame......

I insist that All Politicians lose their pay privileges during any government shut down . . . But will that happen - NOOOOOOOO ! ! !

Also - If they are trying to destroy the "Affordable Health care Act" then - once again - All Politicians, should also lose their publicly financed and paid Health insurance/Benefits/etc. (which allows/gives them "Afforable Health Care" for LIFE) . . . But will that happen - NOOOOOOOO ! ! !

@ "LD" - Suggestion Contact creditor - 1) Try to get fees lowered given your income/expenses . . . 2) Work out a afforable payment plan - again based on your income/expenses . . . "You" never know it might just work in your favor . . . Just sayin' . . .;)

1: I agree Uncle, the only people who are hurting from their actions are the people, the politicians will do fine. It is illegal for the Government to force people to purchase anything, it also against the constitution for Congress to pass a law upon the people that Congress does not have to follow as well. They already made sure that the Federal workers are exempt from Obamacare against the Constitution. Two reasons this is illegal and people are finding out already how unaffordable the "affordable health care act" really is.

Thank Unc, i spoke to them today and they dont offer a reduced 'settle in full amount' in fact, they dont even do set payment plans. i can make any payment as long as it doesnt go more than 30 days between. partial payments CANNOT be made online or by phone, only in person and by mail.
how strange is that?
i mailed them a $70 check to keep them from posting to my credit report. guess ill send em what ever i can each month.
im stuck on this one.

@ "Tiggerrts" - I truly appreciate your opinion on this and would normally agree about "Forcing" anyone to do something they choose not too . . . However, I will only say and hope that "We" can both just agree to disagree on the overall subject that it is "unaffordable" given what I have seen so far and know from a different perspective, especially since a few of these plans have already been effect as an option for those who did not have any insurance or could afford any either here in Florida and other states even before the "Afforable Health Care Act" became a Federal Law . . .

What "T's" Me off the most - IMO - is the underhanded way that "Congress" is handling this and affecting So Many People Who DO NOT Derserve This Happening To Them . . . Worse is what is going to happen again to those who have worked so hard to have some kind of retirement account (401K) that are again losing all their money too . . . THIS JUST "S***S" . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Just wait til the gov't decides that someone has too much saved in their retirement account and starts taking that too. Unfortunately Obama/Pelosi/Reed have all come out in support of it just such a measure....
Funny, they're all millionaires...

3: Your right about that jac, and some laws have already been passed to do just that.
Uncle I do see your point, but politicians certainly do not understand the statement of "working and making it week by week." How do they decide what the average family is facing with all their other bills? Depending on how many people are under the house, it is like saying "Well you really do have $800 dollars more a month you can spend on this."

People have already lost their jobs, others have had their hours cut to 26 hours a week due to this, how do they afford it? Each year for the next ten years the fees "tax" will increase steadily as will the cost of insurance since everyone will pay for all other peoples illness'.

But let me end it this way, yes we can kindly agree to disagree. I have stated before that free speech should be expressed, because in the end you will usually learn something from others opinions. Guess that was a long way of saying "No harsh feelings Uncle" ;)

Yep - And the thing is that people are already doing this, especially the "Working POOR" who are only making minumum wage and are not allowed any benifits because their employers keep tham only as part-time workers . . . "We" could possibly discuss this even further, especially given the differences in both our opinions about the specific causes & effects - buit then agin they would probably fall along the same current political lines of rhetoric . . . Oh WELL . . . ;) .
