First of all I am blesses to finally be off of cigs. Thanks to vaping and the information on ECF I have kicked the habit after 14 years of killing myself slowly. Has anyone had any experience with weight gain once they stop and what did they do to counter this. Hate to know I dropped one Heath risk and replaced it with another one.. Thinking about trying Right Size Smoothies. Not trying to turn this into a weight loss thread but please share if you have any experience with these smoothies

you might look at what you are drinking and eating both. not smoking food will have much more flavor and cause you to eat a little more. But some of it may be what you are drinking as well. I have had weight problems for years even with smoking and have found that sodas play a major part even the diet sodas. you might try some of the candy or sweet fruit flavorings to see if it helps. that is just a thought.

I wish I had a bit of a weight gain problem. After an injury I lost weight and was never able to get it back. KIDS DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. LOL. My restricted diet petty much takes limits weight gain. But I do find that my appetite is less vaping because I can do it more and little spurts of vaping. I smoked and inhaled cigars and you just can't pop on out anytime and smoke. I inhaled. FYI. Fing nuts. I'm not eating to substitute for smoking like before. I'm sure quitting drinking of AB's has an effect too. NSS.

Disney, metabolism will change w/getting off analogs, but usually people replace not smoking with eating.

Walk. Nothing better for you. If you need motivation, start a walking group, or join relay for life or some kind of "walk" group for cancer, MS, whatever. You can earn money for them with your feet. :)

Also, do not replace cigs w/food. If you feel you need to do that, then cut out the fattening stuff.......ice cream, butter, milkfat, sugar, bread, and empty calories like snack junk. etc.

I lost 50 lbs this year, effortlessly.......now I"m a little underweight. just stopped eating anything in a bag, box, can, or that has been processed. I just cook from scratch. I couldn't believe it was so easy.

I went from around 260lbs to 280lbs (I'm 6'5" FWIW) after I quit smoking. I think some of it was because I moved not that long before I quit smoking and started drinking a lot more. My roommates now both drink, while my previous ones rarely did. There are also a lot of fast food places a couple minutes from here, so grabbing .... on the way home instead of making food is much easier and hasn't helped. I think most of the weight gain was from those things and not the quitting smoking. I'm sure it contributed to it some though.

I'm back down to 265lbs now though, so the weight gain wasn't that big of a deal to me.

I've definitely gained weight since I started vaping. I think it's a lot to do with a drop in metabolism from less nic. Also all the water weight from drinking the 2 liters a day that I never drank before. On the up side I went for a little run the other day and at no point felt like my heart was going to explode. So there is hope!

Hi

First of all congrats on your transition mate... Good healthy choice :toast: ... And on the wieght issue , I am too worried about it , I kept the same diet " if not improved" and gained wieght since I started vaping ... I was wondering if itall in VG/ PG + flv ...I don't know  ... But this I surly know ..I don't stink " cloths / mouth / car / house ..and living quoters are always clean from tabacco " I used to role" and the best one is " my lungs scream halleluyah in the morning ..not like they use to be " grasping for air intake !! So I can deal with same wieght... Just have to pass pizza

How much do you vape? It's usually due to oral fixation. Your craving for more food intake replaces your cigarette usage. But the food intake could be replaced by vaping itself because it also satisfies the oral fixation. Maybe you should vape more (if you're not doing so though hehe...) and resist on giving in to the yummy e-juices. Tendency is, when you find the juice too yummy you will look for the real thing and end up ingesting the real thing. Happened to me a couple of times lol
