I know that weight gain is a side effect of quitting smoking. I don't know if it's because your metabolism slows down, or you just eat more because you're not suppressing your appetite with smokes. Anyway, I was curious if vaping helps prevent the weight gain associated with quitting. I haven't been eating any different because the vaper does help suppress appetite for me as well.

Anyway, it's not like it weight gain will make me go back to smoking, but was just curious.

Weight gain associated with quitting smoking is most likely because eating takes the place of smoking, and tobacco is actually an appetite suppressor (someone back me up with science, please!). vaping may be more likely to curb sweet cravings. I've been a real fitness/health junkie for the last year or so, which is part of why I finally switched to vaping. Normally, ignoring cravings for deliciously bad foods is doable, but when I'm PMSing? Forget it. Vaping something sweet definitely helps me forget about actually eating pints of Ben & Jerry's.

Now if only I could find an awesome lasagne flavored juice...

I was chatting with a friend last night telling her how much I loved the flavors and she said it just doesn't work as well for her. In talking, I discovered she doesn't like sweets.

Does anyone make juices in flavors like pretzel or other snacks? The lasagna idea sounds good too. Don't know what the market would be for those more salty or savory flavors, but it might be viable.

I tried to make a lasagne DIY. I was trying to make a couple joke flavors to share with a couple of my friends to see if they could "guess the flavor". Well it did end up tasting like the real thing, but more like old cold been in the freezer way to long type. So nailed Lasagna flavor but defiantly not awesome. If I ever attempt the flavor again and it works out, I will let you know ;)

Not sure that there are many savoury flavours out there, and quite a few get unfavourable reviews, but I have found roast beef and roast chicken and pizza etc out there, I have been vaping a roast beef myself, as I think can be too much sweet stuff and would prefer to be able to swap depending on my mood. Now if only someone did good cheese flavours that would probably be my nirvana, am addicted to good cheese, and strong cheeses too... ah well I can dream... Anyone finds any that you can get in the UK let me know, would be very happy!

I know that weight gain is a side effect of quitting smoking. I don't know if it's because your metabolism slows down, or you just eat more because you're not suppressing your appetite with smokes.

Most often it's the hand to mouth habit. Once they aren't taking a cigarette and putting it in their mouth, many people tend to replace that by taking food and putting it in their mouth. Nicotine is also an appetite suppressant which gives smokers who quit a double whammy.

But that isn't an issue with vaping since you aren't eliminating the nicotine, just all the rest of the crap in smoking while still fulfilling the hand to mouth habit with a PV.

Another benefit of vaping is flavor choices which allows one to also fend off specific cravings, like for sweets.
I'm diabetic and since I switched to vaping, I've found it much easier to keep my blood sugar under control with less meds as I no longer "cheat" when my sweet tooth goes nuts as I just vape something sweet instead.

There's also quite a few savory flavors out there. But for some reason those flavors don't seem to be very satisfying (or pleasant) when vaped for most people. My guess is that texture is often a major part of savory foods and not having that when you vape it reduces it's ability to satisfy.
