Hi, I'm now 9 weeks into vaping and still succeeding. Just lately I have been having these weird dreams where I'm either smoking a regular analogue or asking people to give me an analogue. Just finding it quiet odd. Happened about 6 or 7 times now. Has anyone else had these sort of dreams or should I say nightmares since quitting? When I'm awake I try to block out all thoughts about smoking and quickly find something to do to occupy my mind. I know this is very random but I am interested to know your experiences with since quitting the smokes. ;)

I'm sure I had dreams that included smoking, even after I quit. I smoked for 18 years, so I think it takes a long while to get that out of your brain. I'm exactly 7 months in today, and when I picture things in my minds eye, cigarettes are still attached to a lot of things.

BUT, for something really strange... I REGULARLY have dreams about vape gear, looking at vape gear online, talking to people about vape gear, etc. It's not a part of the dream, it's what the dream is about!!! lol I think I have a problem...

I think that's quite common in smokers who have quit. I've heard many people tell about their smoking dreams after quitting, on here and face to face. My husband, who quit 12 years ago due to lung cancer, has had them. I've been quit just over 6 months now, and had my first dreams of smoking within the last week - 1 night right after the other. Things with emotional impact in our lives tend to enter our dream lives....

Hang in there, and congrats for quitting!!

Thanks. Glad its not just me lol. Given time then I'll be dreaming about the vape next. This hobby is really growing on me.

Thanks. As long as the bad smoking thoughts remain in my dreams and not my everyday thinking I'll be happy.

I think it's pretty common. I'm starting to do this myself after almost 9 months of no smoking... weird eh

I'm afraid to have just one cig because I feel I'm one of those people who would enjoy it way too much and go back to smoking again.

Came close yesterday, but decided not to. What I truly miss I can't talk about on this board lol

I had one last week where I woke up feeling disgusted because I thought I had had one!

I don't remember anything else in particular about the dream other than smoking a cigarette in great detail. The bit that got me was finishing it where the filter tip is brown and goes really soft. Then the smell on my fingers afterwards! :nah:

I felt like it was my brain telling me to never go back because this is how disgusting you will feel!

It was exactly the same for me. I thought I had broken my run. willpower wouldn't be happy if I did go back. I would feel too guilty to be a smoker now. Especially after all the support I have had from friends and family.

Exactly. When I've tried to quit before, I've kept it quiet in case I failed. I think telling everyone and giving away any remaining tobacco/cigarettes definitely helped. I got myself into the mindset that I shouldn't even think about them in case I let everyone down. As luck would have it, I've found it incredibly easy to completely stop and just vape instead. I'm enjoying it much more!

A few weeks after I started vaping, I had many dreams about smoking analogs as well. It's been a couple weeks now since I've had any dreams like that. What's funny is, they hit me all at once; like I would have a dream about smoking every night for a week or so and then it just....stopped. Strange.
