I tried a nickel coil in my tank yesterday and I had a weird issue. I got this, like, heavy pain in my lungs that persisted all day. Swapped it out to one of my ss coils and today I'm completely fine. A little concerning, but anyone know why that might be? I'm not allergic to nickel as far as I know.

At any rate I won't be buying them again. I'm thoroughly unimpressed with TC mode. Going back to ss and kanthal coils.

It's a premade coil for a subtank. I can't recall if it was the .1 or .2 ohm coil (doubt it makes a difference). Nothing I built up myself. I vaped for a while at 400 degrees F, the max for the coil is either 473, or 518 degrees F (depends on which one, which I don't remember. It's in the trash now). I never ventured away from kanthal in my own builds (I might, it's just, I have sooooo much kanthal). But I've been using both ss and kanthal coils in the tank with no issue, with the same juice. So I know it's not the juice, or the temp I'm vaping at because I ran the ss coil at the same temp with no issues. The nickel coil was rated for over what I was vaping at, so I shouldn't have been experiencing any vapors from it. Idk, maybe I developed a nickel allergy. How unlikely would that be though? To spontaneously develop an allergy like that, and to react to something that shouldn't be giving off any metal vapors in the first place?

I just, I don't know. I can see the merit of TC. It's a cool function, it just doesn't bode well with the way I vape. I'm a MtL vaper, more interested in flavor and TH than big clouds. I can't feel anything on my throat with TC. Might be different if I built my own. But right now I'm primarily concerned about the strange nickle reaction.

The old style square ni200 coils for subtanks were really not the greatest. The newer ssocc ni200 vertical coils are mucho better.

For mtl vaping it is probably best for you to use higher resistance coils as they won't get as hot as fast.
A coil with a resistance of 0.15 ohms will just not be suitable for most mtl vapers. Cheers.

ps. the resistance/type of coil you use makes all the difference. Here is whats available for the subtank
"Resistance value:
0.15ohm Ni200, 0.2ohm, 0.5ohm and 1.2ohm and 1.5ohm"

You will notice only one type is nickel, the rest are kanthal.
