First off, a very happy Christmas to all my fellow vapors... :)

OK, here's the prob. I'm only a month in, so still learning about the various issues with my vaping things. I got a Vision Mini VN v2.5 about 2 weeks ago, and it was awesome. Smooth, problem free, wicked well, etc. As is the seemingly common concensus. Vaped the 2.4 ohm atty for about 10 days. Nice. Decided (more just out of interest than out of necessity) to clean it out. Did so, in accordance with the aid of YouTube icons like PBusardo :) OK. Dried it out, did the dry burn, blah blah. Re-assembled. Straight off the bat, started getting a very weird hit. Not burnt - I know what that tastes like. Not dry - plenty of vapour. Don't really know how to describe it. It's like a very harsh, biting, back-of-the-throat hit which seems to hit the back sides of the tongue and stay there for ages. But not the nice nicotine TH. (It's actually staying with me, like I'd just smoked a ton of gaspers last night. I was a 30 - 40 a day smoker up to a month ago, so I know that feeling)

So, I'm then thinking maybe my juice is burnt (probably not, but I'm a newb so I don't know). Then I try the new 1.8 atty. with the same juice. Same thing. Hmmmmmmm  Put the old 2.4 in, now clean and shiny. Same thing. So I change the juice (after cleaning all the old juice out - again. Still getting the same effect. Not as bad, but still there. So now I'm confused. Is there an issue I'm not aware of? Maybe with the coil? Or the silicone cap? Or SOMETHING???? WHERE IS THIS TASTE COMING FROM?????

Please help me guys. I really don't want to fall out of love with my Vivi....

yeap, as gthompson sais.

Mine does the same, I have to decrease to 3.7 volts right after a clean and after a day I'm right back at 4.1 volts again with the same old tasty taste. If you don't have a vv then I assume that you just have to let it accumulate some gunk and it should be right back again.
At least thats what i should have done. :vapor:

well what i used to do after a clean is tilt the tank so the head floods while taking the first couple hits on a clean head, sometimes they get dry/water locked.
or you could have burned the fiber inside, if thats the case it never tastes the same. this is one of the things i nevr liked about the nova and never got with the mini.

looking at your original post and your post count, are you a newish vapor?

I see through it all you keep saying the same juice. if your kinda new your taste buds could be getting wonky, i would try with a different juice.

sometimes when starting a decent tasting juice suddenly starts tasting bad.

this was my initial taught, second was driptip. i know with metal ones this happens every so often too me. not always but it does and leaves that lingering sharp tingly feeling for a bit as well.

I clean my Vivi Nova's by soaking the internal parts (including the head) in Everclear. It cleans ALL the juice out, and evaporates very quickly. I then dry-burn the coils.

And then, I ALWAYS put two or three drops of straight VG on the center of the coil before I put the little silicone cap on top of the coil head. I do this because it keeps it from getting too dry if I'm not going to use it right away and seems to help the wicking get started better when I refill the tank.

I NEVER get that burned taste with mu Vivi Nova's when I do this.

Sometimes I think if you dry burn the coils too well, the wick gets REALLY dry and they take a while to really get the juice wocking properly into thr coil, and you get that burned taste...
