Actually dry burn is a misnomer. When I do I completely wash all parts then take the center post blow through it and lightly dry the wicks there will still be some water near the coil. Screw just that center post to my batt without the cap and start hitting the power button for about 5 seconds at a time. You will hear it sizzle and It will start smoking in a bit just keep at it untill the coil glows red. Take it off rinse the head when it cools off. DRy everything off reassemble fill with juice let set 5 min and then vape. My heads have been lasting me about 2mos or longer my wicks are degrading first.

Okay, I've successfully cleaned one of my used heads and also did a successful dry burn. Now the coil looks clean. I washed it again after dry burning just to make sure. I even smelled the head to make sure there are no more weird smell. Added juice and now I'm vaping good again.

I think the key is to smell the head after you finished dry burning, or even while it's dry burning. The visual is one part (no smoke), but smelling is the true key to a clean head.

If it still gives off a bad smell after cleaning, then chances are it'll be bad when you start vaping. What do you think?

I can't see how it could be a problem if you do the dry burn above. This is not rocket science.

Well, it is a problem. Check out the tanks subforum. It's not rocket science, but it IS physics, which is one of the areas where the Vivi fails miserably. It's a flawed design, and I don't think it should have a place in any beginners setup.

Do crafts store (like Hobby Lobby or Michaels) sell syringe and small eye drop bottles that I can use for cleaning heads?

yes - if you want to use them. I just use an old dish (its an ice cream cup) to soak the heads if i am using alcohol - otherwise - I rise under running hot water. No need for anything else. but you can get small bottles and syringes at hobby lobby. try the adhesives section.

I use both the vivi nova and the vivi stardust from gotvapes. At first they taste like crap but after about half a tank they do just fine for me and besides I'd rather just change the coil than the whole thing. I also use boge LR cartos and I found I have to carry way to many to last a shift at work.

My finding's with the vn 2.5 is the silicone cap under the drip tip is to long causing the wick to choke and giving dry hit's i have been cutting a v notch on top of the wick's and all has been fine.I have been using cotton for a while now and find it wick's better and give's better flavor and is simple to do give it a try.

I was a Vivi Nova bastion, now I'm a Vivi Rebuildable Tank bastion. yes, its a tough sell because you have to mess around with a coil, but I did and was able to learn how to play with it to get the best vaping experience yet. It took about 5 coils to perfect it, but now, this is King. At first, I got the worst hit out the box and immediately chalked it up to a loss. After spendnig a few hours researching, I learned how to modify the screws and wick correctly, afterwards, I have the best vape yet. No leaking, smooth flavor, incredible plumes (makes it harder to vape at work). Also, I got another that I intend on modding, i.e. testing it out with a SS Mesh wick. Good thing is, I'm not spending time finding the right atomizer anymore, I'm spending time finding my favorite flavors on a device that that is giving me true flavor.

Here was my keys to success: (i) the screws come completely tightened down, unscrew them until they are raised higher than the coil (ii) I took a tiny screwdriver and shoved it through each hole for the wick, this broke up the wick allowing more liquid to come through, however left full wicks above where the screws are. (iii) I noticed a lot of smoke coming out at a low voltage and a harsh throat hit, so I lowered my volts to around 3.5 whcih was a mistake, I keep it at 4.5 on 1.8ohm coil and its smooth like butter.
