I recently got a VV lavatube, I use mostly LR atomizer(i06s) However even if I lock the voltage at 3.7 any longer than a 2 sec draw and it resets down to 3.0. However this is where things get weird. If I set it to anything in the 4.x range it lets me draw to infinity.
This means I can't use the LR atties. Any idea what could cause this?

Also, it came with unbadged batteries, do these have any protection in them?
EDIT: also even with the voltage locked it resets to 3.0 if I swap batts. This is different than the review I read of them but not an issue for me. Only the auto-reset under load is infuriating me. a 3.0 vape sucks.

Rocketfish, when you take the batteries out, if they are out for more than 10 seconds, the LT will reset to 3. I learned this on a Grimm Green video (lavatube followup). The other problem really is weird. It should show the voltage you set it at, even though it does internally lower the voltage if you are using LR atties, but it should not reset the display.

If you havent seen this video, pretty interesting, but I have seen or heard or experienced nothing of what you are experiencing. I have used every kind of atty on mine, 306s, resurrectors, LR, HR, and nothing has ever changed the display. I would contact them.

This is the video if you are interested in watching it.

Bloodwolf, it is my understanding that the Provari wont let you vape at a high voltage with LR devices either, I think it gives you an error message and you have to put on a different atty or carto or whatever. For me the LT works perfect. Unless you use DCC or LR stuff, it will vape pretty close to whatever you set it at.

Gotcha Dotma. I is still learning. When I decide on my VV purchase next month I will be asking SOOOOO many questions.

Indeed, the VV LT has received a critical-eye because of this issue; I believe I read somewhere that Volcano delivered an open apology due to the faulty equipment, citing a shipment of malfunctioning gear from their manufacturer that made it's way to the hands of consumers. If I were you I'd get in touch with them, they're perfectly friendly people.

Just curious...

What are the ohms of your LR attys?

I'm with zoiDman, I think your lr atty is the issue. You are triggering the built in battery and perhaps Lavatube protection circuits. If you want to go to higher voltage, may I suggest purchasing a higher ohm atty. I see there are some 4 something ohm attys now and I use 5 ohm for any high voltage vaping, anything above 3.7v.

See this is what I don't understand.

LR stuff was designed for people to get the hit of a Higher Voltage PV when someone doesn't have a Higher Voltage PV.

But if you have a VVPV that can go up to 6 volts, why do people want to use LR stuff on it?

Yeah....

Why use a 1.5ohm atty on a VV device?

Buy standard resistance attys & cartos & you'll not have this problem. :2c:

Had this problem with my LavaTube. Nearly drove me crazy and thought i would have to return it for warranty service. Then at the last minute i gave the end cap a little extra turn. Turned out that the end cap wasn't making good contact and allowing the mod to loose current, causing the voltage to reset back to 3, just like when you change batteries.

Treated the threads with Noalox and havent had a problem since. Use Dual coil at 4.2 volts regularly now and love the LavaTube.

Hope this helps.

Just to reply to certain peoples comments, theres more to VV then just VV. People also like regulated voltage. I have tons of LR stuff that I love, and would love to run at a regulated voltage of 3.7-4.2, so thats why some people are upset, because you can't do that with this device.

Mine is f'ed up now. It will run a 1.7 ohm tank at 3.9, but it wont run my 3.0 ohm atty at all. At any voltage. I checked it with a ohms meter, still reads good, checked the lava tube with no load, and it reads the correct voltage. Obviously something funky has happened with the electronics. I won't be able to get in contact with Volcano for a while either. You get what you pay for. Luckily this wasnt my main device.
