Hello everyone. Last Saturday I stopped analogues and bought my first disposable. It was a Blu from a Petro Canada gas station. Not knowing what to expect... I actually enjoyed it. After only an hour or 2 max it was out. Instead of reaching for a cig I drove to another station that sold NV's. Grabbed one and again didn't mind it. No TH but I didn't know what that was till recently..

While on my lunch break I went to the closest mall to search out kits at a cigar shop. Who would have guessed?? I only had a half hour so I jumped on the Heath E cigarette kit. I couldn't have been more disappointed with it. It came with the wrong AC plug, 10 empty carts, one of the two batts didn't charge and some Dunhill high liquid that nearly made me sick.

The next day I returned it knowing that I wanted something like the Ego. I asked for a refund but of course he could only exchange. I figured I was out 70 bucks anyways so I grabbed the Smoke NV kit plus he threw in an extra 10 pack of Canadian carts.

These haven't left my side since then. Nicely packaged, and for a beginner a very nice vape... Im guessing.

Since then I have done a fair bit of research and today ordered some Ego C Twists and a few different tanks from Canvape along with some new liquids. Im kinda going in blind and figure I have nothing to lose in my choices as Im sure everyone had to start from somewhere.

Im excited to try new flavours and learn as much from you all as much as possible. Im done with analogues and need your help. This site is overwhelming with information but I hope that soon it will all become easy to understand and I can one day help someone else with a question.

Till then I will read and learn.

Cant wait for my shipment. I hope it is a different experience than the simple Smoke NV's Canadian blend.

Thanks for reading.

You are in for a treat!

After reading about ecigs and the banning a few years ago I thought ecigs were a write off, so seeing them in a corner store 2 years later I was pretty excited. Grabbed a few of the smokeNV things also, no nic/TH but after smoking 20 years analogues didn't give me any either. While having 0 nic, they definitely made me realize that they COULD work. I took the plunge, did no research, ordered an 808 kit (thankfully a good one) and some nic- samplers. I figured people up here were getting nic+ so it was just a matter of finding the right place, and the nic- would at least help with the "habit smokes". Found ECF, one express delivery later I've been (almost...1 still counts :p) smoke free for just over 2 months.

Once you get that list, the options out there are incredible. I HIGHLY recommend to try out some non-"tobacco" flavours, you may be surprised.

There's a learning bell-curve. The first week or two will be a little intense with the amount of info, but once you get the basics down it's not so bad. It all depends on how much spare time you get to read.

Do NOT get discouraged, there's many liquid delivery methods/equipment and you'll find your fit. I'd recommend ordering at least one of each (carto, clearo, atomizer, bridgeless atomizer for dripping) for starters. They all have pros and cons. Getting the Ego was a good move, it's a great battery for starters.

Stick around here, these folks (even a 2 month noob like me) are fantastic, knowledgeable people. In no time you'll be the one greeting and helping new folks.

Oh, and Surrey isn't that bad, at least if you don't own a car.

Welcome to our vaping family! I also find this site a bit overwhelming...try the Canvape FB page, its more nogotiable and we'd love to have you there! But there is sooooo much information on here, just take the time to read it all. Everyone is very helpful and no question is stupid, even mine! LOL
Good luck on the analogue free trip, its well worth it. Shooter and I are on 4 months of no stinky sticks and its been wonderful everyday. The best part is the wonderful people that Ive met and vaping has now become a part of our lives. Vape on my friend!

Welcome to the forum!

Always good to see a fresh face on here, and I think you'll be very happy with your Twists. As others have said, it's a learning curve, but you'll have the added advantage of being able to tweak your voltage for more/less flavour, vapor and throat-hit while you discover the right juice for you. Sounds like you're well on your way to kicking tobacco to the curb.

I'm almost four months in, myself, and I still need to ask questions, but I've learned so much from all of the wonderful people here.

What e-liquids did you pick up?

Thanks Mike. I ordered a few tobacco flavours and some caramel so far from Canvape yesterday and Im about to place another one today with jugheads.

I love the taste of American smokes so Im curious about those. Also about the RY4. I read a lot about it and watched a few vids. Could you explain the taste?

RY4, eh? MisterMike looooooooves him some RY4. :)

Everyone whose RY4 I've tried has a different approach to it. From what I gather, the original was a tobacco with notes of caramel and vanilla. Some people focus more on the candy notes (Arrrrrgh Why 4? from Maple Leaf Vapes is really strong on both; just a hint of tobacco) and others focus more on the tobacco. (Flavourcrafters is definitely in the tobacco-first crowd, though there is a hint of nutty sweetness, almost mapley to my mind, to it.) Juggy's VG RY4 seems to be very vanilla-heavy, and his tobacco base is very good too, though I would prefer a little more of it, like in his Karamellow Bacco (also definitely worth a shot if you like a nice strong tobacco, though it does require steeping to bring forth the caramel.)

I had the opportunity to try a FeelLife RY4 (manufactured in China) not too long ago, and I'm thinking it's closer to the original than most of the others I've tried. It's a very different tobacco flavour; very earthy and spicy and nutty, with some sweetness to it (I'm having trouble picking the vanilla out of most of the blends I've tried; caramel definitely predominates in most of these) and quite good in its own way. It definitely has an "Asian" flavourprint to it.

My current favourites are a couple of DIY RY4 flavours I picked up. TPA's RY4 Double seems to hit all the right buttons for me; nicely balanced between sweet and tobacco, and there's a concentrated RY4 that's got a sweeter, more complex tobacco base to it (very bright, which probably doesn't help much, but that's the way I have to describe it), and more of a brown sugar kind of caramel.

The only one I haven't really been impressed with is TPA's RY4 Asian. There's just something unbalanced in it. Other people love it, though.

Anyway, TL;DR for those that like it, RY4 is a great blend of sweet and tobacco. Definitely sample a few if you feel your tastes run that way, and if you pick up DIY later on and like the RY4, give TPA's RY4 Double a shot.

I'll leave the American tobacco to someone else, since I was never really into American cigs.

Edit: Bear in mind, everyone's tastebuds are different, and two people can get vastly different experiences from the exact same juice.
