Depends. Some you get are vapable right away. While others to achieve the best flavor need to steep for a week or two. If you get one that you don't like at all, I always recommend letting it steep to see if it changes. I have received a few in the past that were kind of perfumy...but after I took the cap off and let it steep for about a week or so it became much better.
Yes ma'am. Red lead on center post and black on threads. Put on the ohms setting. Looks like an upside down horse shoe.
200. Then subtract .5 ohms to remove the resistance of the leads. So if you have one that measures 3.0 ohm then it is actually 2.5 ohms.
Edit: for 200...you are right.
Edit 2: Also, wait a few to make sure it steadies out. It will settle in.
