danes right a good boil and then let them dry good and i bet your old cartos will be almost as good as new , i like to boild em , then blow out the extra water and then i put em on a cookie sheet at a low temp in the oven , a bit of work but if your in need of a quick fix it may help
and when unsure always contact the seller as they can be pretty helpful
Ya I actually had some very old carto's that I have used for a month at a time, and boiled them last week before coming out to the Rockies. Been using the old carto's on my ego and my knight rider and they are producing some good vapor production and the flavor is still great. Sorry to tell you all, Danesnpits is less one great dane. My old 9 year old great dane Justice, passed away on New Years out here in the Rockies while I am visiting my family. She died of gastric torsion. It all happened so fast, and I am devastated beyond humanely possible.

I am going to try the boiling, and will report back. Cactus is also kind enough to be giving me some cartos so between the two things that should bail us out long enough to get a shipment in! Thank you all for the advice and help. NO SMOKING FOR US! :D

Dane, I am so terribly sorry to hear that about Justice :( I am in school to become a Vet assistant and am doing my placement in an Emergency animal hospital so I see a lot of big dogs with gastric torsion (or GDV) and it does happen so so fast. My condolences go out to you and your family at this difficult time and we'll say a prayer for ya'll and Justice, RIP.

Oh that is so sweet of you. The puppy in the middle right looks just like my girl. Here is a picture of the founding members of Danesnpits. Elektra my pit bull and Justice my great dane angel. And one of me saying goodbye to my sweet dane angel. I am so heartbroken, it just rips me up inside.

I am also getting accepted into vet tech school as well. I want to help save lives. Thanks everyone for the very kind words over the loss of my girl Justice. You don't know how much it means to me during this time. It is very hard to go on right now without her. My apologies for high jacking the thread, but hope I could be of a little assistance to Chelly so she doesn't have to go without her vape!

Oh no, don't even worry about it. I got what I needed out of the thread, you just wanted to update people and we all appreciate it, even though it is a sad update. Great job for getting into vet tech, you will love it. There are hard times but the good times outweigh it. Good luck! :)

Edit: I forgot to say that those are some mighty fine doggies. What an angel.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Danesnpits. They take a piece of our heart with them when they go. My beautiful boy was diagnosed with a ruptured spleen yesterday, untreatable as due to a splenic tumor, so I know my time with him is running very, very short as well. As Will Rogers so succinctly put it, "If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go."

I tried cleaning the cartos out and I haven't had much luck. I boiled them for about 10 minutes and then let them dry a few hours, then ran really hot water through them, then put them in the oven on a very low setting to dry them out a bit. They work fine but taste horrid. Ah well, dems da breaks.

OMG, I just read this now. Is that the puppy in the picture? My heart aches for you. This is somthing I don't ever want to hear anyone have to go through. If I would have known Justice's last days were coming soon, I would have told her I loved her one more time and hugged her and not let go. Cherish every moment you have with your dog from now until he leaves for the bridge. Stay strong, he needs you now. My heart aches all over again and I am so sorry this is happening to you. I know I feel like I died the night Justice left me. I am just going through the motions now.

Thanks Wood, it is going to be a very long road for me to recover from this, and I am glad, even though the circumstances are bad, to see the community unite to lend support to a fellow vaper. That means the world to me.
