I don't know, maybe I really don't have a real success story...
I can't remember a time when I wasn't smoking cigarettes. I got in trouble
for lightin' my Momma's cig butts before I was 5...Im now (almost) 57
I've tried Chantix, besides all the lozenges, gums, etc.
Nothin' worked--I have Huge Rage issues, that are almost un-controllable
whenever I have tried to quit.
I stumbled across a 51 Trio on sale at a local Pilot...
Been 'vapping' for 'bout 3 weeks now--bought another kit from
health e-cigs...
I'm Convinced this is the ticket.
bought some juice from Choice e-cigs...
I was smoking 3-5 packs a day when I started, I'm down to 'bout
1/2 pack now, and can see a 'Smoke Free' future ahead.
I'm not trying to rush anything--I need to learn more, and from what I've
learned here, I need to upgrade to better Delivery systems--when I can afford it.
Got my wife to start, yesterday...Yeah.
She said I inspired her and that she is Very Proud of me....
Happy Days:laugh:

hey Thanks Y'All...
yeah, I'm pretty pleased--I never thought I'd see the day--
figured I'd die with a cig in my mouth :}
I can already tell a Big difference in my breathing,
oh yeah, I do have emphysema, so this is like a
'new lease on life'
again, Thanks so much for the encouraging words
Many Blessings to all Y'all...

Tried my first e-cig last night, courtesy of a friend who's been trying to quit with me for years. She started just 3 days ago and the person who sold it to her's been smoking heavily for a good 30 years.

Apparently he forces himself to smoke at least one analog a week for "health reasons" - something about maintaining a thin film or tar over the lungs which might have developed some holes. Is there any truth to that?

But great job on cutting back, am a pack-a-day here for 13 years myself. Hope this does the trick!

Wow! Congrats! I was in a similar situation and after some research I took a chance on Bloog Maxxfusions. I had given up on quitting and felt it would be a good way to cut down, save a little because of rising prices and not have to leave my office for a fix!

The Maxxfusions had great throat hit and vapor! (my previous experience was only with the junk at malls) From my research I knew Bloog would be better, but I was positively surprised. I figured I'd test how long I could last without an analog. After 24 hours I found myself 'missing' an analog and I was curious to see a difference. To my surprise, the analog felt like a lights (I smoked marlboro reds 100s). I got no satisfaction and that was my last analog!

I have been Analog-free for 2 months now!

Not a success story? Think again. What you have reduced by is more than my wife and I smoked - combined. That's a success by any standard. And not only that, you have now got your wife on the road to to smoke free with you.

Keep plugin' away at it, with a better delivery system, you'll be totally smoke free before you know it. You alluded to cost of a new rig - just a suggestion, but all those cigs you are no longer buying had to be costing a pretty penny. I bet if you were to toss that money into a coffee can, that you used to hand over for cigs, you would rack up a nice pile of cash in no time :)

Your wife is right - your story is an inspiration. Take a tip from your wife - you should be proud of you too. Congrats to both of you! :D

THAT is definitely a success story!!!
You are doing stupendously and just give it some time. And even if you don't quit altogether going from 3 to 5 packs a day to a half of one is totally awesome.
And the wife too!!!
I wish the both of you all the success in the world!!!

In a year come to the Pre Vet thread (if you don't just come to hang out before then) and will celebrate your year at ECF!!!

same here. I have the ecig but somehow I am not contented with just that. I still miss the flavor of the real thing. So I usually have a pack of my favorite brand and my ecig in my pocket at any given time (except probably when I am sleeping). But it sure does help to cut down on my cigarette (the real one) consumption. Maybe in half. that's not too bad. and it's a start.

We've been making our cigs for the last 10 years...even with the added taxes that Mr. Obama added, we still run 'bout 20 bucks for 2-2 1/2 cartons.
The first Trio kit cost $20 plus a pack of 6 refills for another $10---
Then the Health e-cigarette kit was $25--
And the juice was $15--so, the initial cost was (for me) pretty expensive.
Now that I've learned a bit about refilling and the different 'juices', I
figure the savings will come.
Besides, it's still a lot cheaper than a Lung :2cool:

No. Tar from smoking has no good aspect to it.

Some people do miss one thing from standard cigarettes known as MAOIs, chemicals that slow the breakdown of dopamine (the feel-good chemical) in the brain. They may choose to supplement using a PV with something called SNUS -- check out the Smokeless Tobacco section on ECF for more information about it. (I don't use it, just know it exists, is supposed to be much safer than a classic chewing tobacco or similar products, does provide MAOIs.)

You are on the right track!! Congrats.

Out of curiosity, what Nic level are you at? Have you tried playing with the level? From 3 -5 PAD ( holy cow, man am I glad you found vaping!! ) you may have to be at a pretty high amount to scratch your itch just right.

Also, if you were to decide at some point to pick up another unit, it might be a good idea to look into one with a slightly bigger battery, perhaps an eGo style unit. You will then have the option to look into Low Resistance atomizers and Cartomizers depending on which you prefer. They will offer more vapor at a time, giving you more of a push towards the satisfaction you are looking for but they do require batteries 405 mah or bigger.

Just some food for thought. :)

Keep up the good work. You are doing great!!
