if your on a route that does'nt have a regular mailman and uses lot of subs your stuff is
sitting at that routes work station where yor mail gets delivered from.
hence tracking say's delivered.
substitute carriers typicly tend not to care.
more times than not forget things, because they dont know the route.
like packages and keys to secured buildings.

I have an awesome update! I've been following up with the post office and received a call this morning, apparently the box was jammed underneath a belt at the sorting facility.

I finally have my VTR in my hands and this thing is amazing!!

Here are some pictures to show the rough journey this guy went through.

Thank god it comes in a heavy metal case, but yes I'm incredibly happy this thing actually wound up on my doorstep!!

Glad you got it, but I'm still calling a HUGE BS on this whole situation. Too many inconsistencies on the part of the USPS. Does "jammed under a belt" automatically show delivered? Does not going down your street include delivering bills?! Man, I'd hate to have your Post Office here!

Yeah, I completely agree. But it just seemed like I was completely out of luck. I don't think I was getting the correct story from anyone and it does anger me that I got put through a 2 week runaround, but at least I got my VTR.

And knowing my luck lately, I'm surprised I didn't get a defective one XD

Wow, what a ride! Happy to see that you finally got it.

Apparently, USPS can mark a package as "Delivered" anytime they want to. I have a package that shipped from Omaha, Nebraska on Friday. I live in Springfield, Illinois. When the gentleman took it to the Post Office to ship it the Postal Clerk scanned it as "Delivered" instead of "Accepted".

The tracking indicates that it was delivered in Omaha, Nebraska at the same time the gentleman dropped it off to ship it. It's Sunday now and it still says the same thing.

Congrats on your new VTR!!

Good outcome, but did they explain how it was marked delivered, while it was actually stuck in their building?? Had they not found it, you would have been sol!

That's what it sounded like. And honestly who knows if it really was stuck under a belt or not. I feel like they were just giving me stories so I would stop bugging them.

Something definitely went on with this, don't know if it was laziness or really was a complete accident. But it got here eventually, which I really didn't think was going to happen.

still missing mine. this has left a bitter taste in my mouth. i have no one to blame which really sucks. USPS couldn't careless, the seller i think cares but they cant do anything for me. been on the phone for hrs only to end up back in the same spot. tracking still has not been updated in 8 days. this reallly sux. i am out $40. could have used that toward other things. hate losing hard earned cash. unfortunately this has really hindered my ability to purchase anything in classifieds again. i know its not the sellers fault, but with a retail location they could perhaps do something for me, like partial refund or in some cases resend the item out of good faith. sad day. but in a private transaction its buyer beware sort of deal. you know that feeling of regret and self pitty. i will get over it, just bummed it had to happen during the holiday season. i am thankful i still have other things to use. so i am just going to dance it off

Congratulations! I've been following this thread and I felt for you but it worked out in the end. stuff like this does happen, and quite frankly I'm amazed it does not happen more often. Enjoy the toy.
It happens quite often, its just spread out so far and wide that most people only hear about a small portion of the problem.

Congrats on getting your package.
But I think postal insurance is a scam, once an item gets scanned as delivered, they are off the hook even if it gets scanned as delivered by mistake.

even if it doesn't get delivered and lost in transition they are off the hook with no insurance. was told that flat out by USPS. if not insured, all they can do is look for it and that could take 30-90 days if not found well too bad so sad, next time get insurance, all i could do is laugh.

It's happened to me a couple times. Get email that says delivered and when I hit the mailbox nothing is there. Both times it did show up the next day, but still doesn't explain how it is scanned delivered, but not actually delivered. Seems like a flawed process some where.
