I posted a thread last week talking about not getting my 2 day delivery from usps. It's now been over a week and my package has said delivered as of this morning. I have been working from home all day and no truck ever came here and it's just simply wrong.

I purchased this item off ebay so I can't talk to the vender nor will I try, it's not his fault. Gave him a great rating and moved on.

Called usps and they said technically if the driver has delivered the package, there's nothing they can do. So not only did I waste my money and spend over a week eagerly waiting, I have nothing to show for it.

Guys, I've never wanted a smoke so bad. I know I shouldn't but I'm so tempted to just go down the street to get a pack. I have nothing to vape now as I was buying this as a replacement for my MVP that got crushed at work.

Please help talk me out of it or distract me so I don't pick up the habit again.

Thanks!

not true. 2 day would be Priority Mail, which has $50 insurance that seller can put in a form for.

"Delivered" just means delivered, not necessarily to "you". Go in person to your local USPS, and also talk to postmaster there and/or have your carrier call you. Mis delivered items are often found.

If USPS seems like they don't care, like I said, go in person to post office and find out WHERE your mail was delivered. And speak to higher ups.

Believe it or not, USPS takes Priority Mail seriously. First class, too. How do I know? I used to work there. A friend who is a carrier left ONE piece of First Class Mail in the bottom of one of the pick up boxes. She had to DRIVE that one letter to the post office in LIttle Rock, in the night. (160 mile round trip!)

And then was given probationary desk duty. And a write up in her file. The mail has to go out, and they do take it seriously.

I have no idea why people bash USPS but if you knew how the whole system works you wouldn't. Yes, there are non chalant employees, but you need to speak to someone who is in a position to help you.

Your carrier can't just deliver mail to "whoever" by mistake. If this happens a lot they will be put on probation. Carriers are under a lot of pressure, esp. in terms of time. Every couple years they send somebody to "TIME" your route. They practicallly count your steps!!! Very stressful.

Also, njext time you buy on Ebay, or even in ECF classies, you can ASK the seller to pay for SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION. It's only a few dollars. Paypal shipping has an option for this.

REO mods ships everything priority w/signature required. I think it's about $7.95 (postage plus that extra service). Worth the piece of mind!

ANYTHING over $100 I would always use this.

I have an awesome update! I've been following up with the post office and received a call this morning, apparently the box was jammed underneath a belt at the sorting facility.

GREAT NEWS!

I just had a swap item go lost.......for over a month. It finally showed up. It was in the totally wrong kind of packaging for it's size, so it must have gotten caught in a machine, then fell behind the machine.

Well obviously they found it, and sent it on. USPS probably receives badly packaged or improperly packaged items all the time. I bet they spend plenty of time having to re-tape stuff, I know I did.

It is iimporant to package things correctly, and pay for Signature Confirmation on any amount of $$ you don't want to lose. It is reallly not up to the SELLER to provide extra mailing services. Tracking is to protect the SELLER to show they mailed it and it has been accepted at USPS.

But after it leaves their hands, they can't ensure it will be delivered to YOU.

Offer to pay the $3.00 for Signature Confirmation, and add to your purchase price. those CAN'T be misdelivered, since somebody has to sign for them. And the name is electronically recorded.

Seconded. In my youth (when dinosaurs roamed the earth), I worked at UPS. And lemme tell you, that work isn't for the faint of heart. In my role as sort supervisor, it was my job to do a visual inspection of all of the conveyor belts in the facility (of which many were some 50 feet off the ground) at the end of every shift. If I found any straggling packages with any kind timeline guarantee on them, I had to hand deliver each of them myself on that same day.

On my own time.

We've all encountered (what seem to be) lazy or impertinent workers in the post office, and yeah, it's extremely annoying when a package goes missing. God knows I've whined more than my fair share about inconveniences like that over the years, but in the grand scheme of things, what the USPS accomplishes on a daily basis is nothing short of miraculous.

Glad the OP got his VTR, in any case.

If you read my posts here you'd see I don't necessarily bash usps, I thought I was being fed nonsense and was disappointed. But never actually "bashed" them.

And they also told me that 2 day mail is not priority mail. Priority is guaranteed, regular 2 day is not. I'm new to all of this so I don't have much experience with USPS, but that's what I was told a few days ago, when I did actually go in and talk with the postmaster.
