I got the 510 - G4 Cartos today with the intention of pulling the center tube and using them as an atty so to speak.

NOT going to happen ... I broke three and gave up.
The tube is glued on super good.... and the tube isn't coming out without the tube coming off first.

I have the fourth going on an eGo just to test them as designed and its not to shabby.
Except the honkin big rubber mouth plug is worthless.

If anyone figures out how to get the tube out without breaking things let me know.

I have one left I can give it a shot again.

Yes, so If I could just get some new tubes I can still use these that I've broken.

I tried a steel tube from a CE2 but they are too small dia

Liv2Ski used a whistle tip from an IKV 801 atty and it worked for him. If you don't have any, I could send you a couple. I could also send a couple of tubes from the Vortex cartos I modded.

There may be differences between the G4s that you got and the Vortexes that I got from gotvapes.com. The glue that holds the Vortex together is some sort of ingestible "plant glue." The G4s may have a more robust glue that makes it more difficult to take them apart. You might try soaking the G4 in hot water to see if the glue loosens up enough for you to take it apart.

The guys at gotvapes have been working with the manufacturer to make some minor changes in the Vortex. I think the improved Vortex is close to being released at gotvapes.

Thats the problem, I can't get the center tube out without breaking them :(

The G4s have been hit-miss across the board. Nhaler has something they call G5s which infer are slight revisions but don't come right out and say it.

Big hitter, some G4s weren't glued properly and in those the leaks were quite evident. At the same time, since they weren't glued properly, I was able to get the tip of a blade up along the base and slowly work my way around until the outer tube wiggled off after a few seconds immersed in a rolling boil. You can then do your mod and a syringe body slides right back on the remaining base to complete the mod.

However, I found the effort just not worth it because in the end the variations in resistance and the gunking coils just failed as quickly as unmodded anyway. -Magnus
