Ha ha! I just told him that last night when he couldn't sleep. I told him that he better because he sure won't get any in the hospital. Wake you up every two hours for vitals. Sheesh.

Or if you do manage to drift off.......they wake ya up to take your sleeping pill..Go figure....?????

Wow. It was rough getting to the laptop at the hospital so I just found this thread. Thank you so much everyone. This really awesome! It really shows what great people I have met on ECF!

I am finally home and laying in my own bed. It feels great to be home. I love my bed!

For those that didn't know, I have a could of herniated disks in my lower back. Between L4 and L5, the disk was so badly ruptured that the fluid leaked out and hardened. The hardened mass was pushing on my nerve clusters and not only causing lots of pain in my back but, also shooting/stabbing/throbbing pain down my right leg. I also only had 35%-50% usage of my right leg on any given day.

Well, the surgery started at 8:45AM Monday and was supposed to be 45-60 minutes. 2 hours later, they were done. They found that the spinal fluid had leaked out, causing a spinal cyst. As the cyst was growing, it was causing the hardened disk to press harder on my nerve cluster. This explains why my right leg was deteriorating so quickly.

In removing the cyst, they ruptured the spinal wall causing my spinal fluid to leak out. They patched this but, now I am supposed to lay in bed or lay in the recliner for 5 days. I am also supposed to check my stitches to make sure there isn't any clear fluid coming out. If there is, I need to rush to the E.R.

All-in-all, I have gained back almost all of the feeling in my right leg. It is amazing to have it back. When I do walk, I am like a little kid with a new toy. I keep getting yelled at for standing on one leg... the right one.

Thank you again everyone. This was so nice. It made me smile ear from ear!

It's great to hear that your surgery fixed your leg problem!!! If you're getting yelled at, it's for a reason, so be careful with it. Hopefully you won't have much re-coop time & it's good to know that you're back at home. That's awesome that you didn't have to spend much time in the hopital
Take care and still keep us up-dated please!!!

LordDavon is having surgery today. Started this thread for anyone wanting to post a note so he can come back and read how we all wish him well.

Hope you make it back soon, Lord. Thinking of you and the Tootsie Roll today. ;)

This was really sweet of you Free. The Tootsie Roll is steeping in the closet. I only did the cap off for a half day because I hear that the flavor is better with less air, but some air, and more time. I think a couple more weeks and it will be ready to go!
