I just closed the deal with Divemedic for one of his REOs.

Twill be my first BF mod, but hopefully not my last.

Here are pics, his, not mine.

Not sure how I feel about the green door. Will wait until it's in hand, then decide.

It's coming with the RM3 as shown, and I have a RM2.

I know, pics or it didn't happen, so when it arrives, I'll share. Then I can officially add my house to the a resident list.

Congratz new Reonaut!!!

Spiffy Grand!! The finish on that body will allow you to use lots of different colors and texture doors. It is also one of the best for hiding scratches and dings should they happen.

You will be very happy!!!

Nicely done, squire :toast:

As a recent reonaut graduate, I can tell you that these little beauties have a way of changing your whole vape perspective. Just be sitting down when you take your first toot... and maybe no kids in the room (you wouldn't want them to see you get all blubbery when it happens).

Congrats, you're going to love it. The body looks to be raw so you could always strip the door down to match or buy another door from Rob.

Yeah, I may strip it down to match. I may do it, then decide to paint it like the veined ones, or maybe a good matte black to better match the Harley.

I realized earlier that I have no battery for the incoming REO Grand. I know I need a button top 18650. General consensus is the AW IMR 1600 mah for the high amp rating and flatter discharge curve. I don't currently sub-ohm, running around 2 ohm coils, at 6 to 8 watts on my Vamo.

Went to my local BM store, and all they had was an Efest 2250 mah, button top, protected. Said the discharge limit was 10 amp, but couldn't tell me for sure at what level the protection tripped. They also wanted $16.50 for the battery. Not even paying that much.

Question is, do I want protected IMR or unprotected?

You want regular IMR, protected cells add a circuit board that makes them to tall and they will over compress the spring. The AW IMR 1600 is the best choice. RTD is a good place to source from and the are pretty quick.

EDIT: oh and you might find like many here that you need to lower your ohms. I went from 2.5 ohm coils at 7 watts before the Reo to .9 to 1.1 ohm coils that run at 17 to 19 watts on he Reo.

Thanks. I didn't think protected was the way to go.

On the ohms thing, I never understood this. Why do most people end up lowering like that? Going 2 to 3 times higher on the wattage just seems bizarre to me. I tried running my RM2/Vamo at 10-12 watts and all it did was give me a severe sore throat. Even now, when I use it, I run a max of about 8 watts.

Similar to you, I can't run anything above 8 watts on an APV (my MVP2, for example, regardless of resistance b/w 1.5 and 2.5). Just too harsh. First toot on my Reo was at ~12 watts (I think? Can't recall the exact ohm on that first coil). Day-um--smooth like buttah! It's magic, I tell ya. YMMV, but maybe start in the 1.8-2.0ish range and see how that works for ya.

Yeah, sucks about the battery issue. Definitely don't want protected. If there's no batteries of the unprotected flavor local to ya, definitely wait for an order from RTD. Super fast from those folks--highly reputable vendor.

REO ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't have a button top yet, so I popped in a fresh flattop. 2 ohm coil on my RM2, fresh hemp wick. Here I am, hiding out in my van so I won't be interrupted on its maiden vape.

HOLY MOTHER OF VAPOR!!!! I'm going back forth comparing the REO against my carto tank on the Vamo. Both running about the same wattage, 7-8. I'll report back later.
