I know we all do stupid things but that doesn't make me feel any better at the moment. My fav device, V3 flat top sigelei. How do I repay it? Jump right in the ocean....... Doh! I tried to bring it back to life. I took it apart and rinsed it with fresh water to remove as much salt as possible. Then I buried it in rice. As soon as I could get to some iso alcohol I cleaned it well and dried it with air. No dice, she's still dead. I'm lookin for another now. I found one in the classified for $40 used and found two different vendors who have them for $50 new. Ill likely spend the extra $10 and buy new. Luckily I have my magneto and kick to hold me over but damn it sucks. Anyone here bring their mod back from a swim?

Sorry about that. We're getting ready to go to our timeshare on the beach in a week and I keep on reminding myself about my PV's. If we're not on the beach, we're at the pool and this will be the first year vaping instead of smoking. Smoking was easy because the pack always gets laid down on a towel far from the water, but I tend to keep my vape in a pocket. Probably a good time to use the eGos...

I haven't taken one for a swim yet, mostly because my pv won't fit in my board shorts and rash guard. I did leave a clearo low on the beach, and the high tide tried to make off with him. I rescued it, but a day later he was starting to corrode at all the seams. Poor clearo never stood a chance against the salt water. Sorry you couldn't resuscitate your pv either.

I went into a hottub with my provari. Well ot slipped and decided to join me. It died on me. Sent it back to provape. They are replacing the electronics under warranty and should have it back soon. Goodluck with yours man. Btw I didnt have a backup. Hope you have one. It suckef waiting and going to a vape shop to buy an over priced ego to tide me over.

Did you allow it to dry out before firing it? There's stories on ECF of Provari's getting dropped in swimming pools, rivers, and even a washing machine full cycle. They either did an alcohol bath or packed it in some dry rice for a day and theirs worked good as new.

I was wasted. Too drunk to realize. I work as a technician and machinist. I should know not to fire an e cig right after it took a swim. Well I fired anyway. Shows e4 now. Meaning I shorted something. I have dropped it in water before. Let it dry. Put alcohol in it. Let it dry again. Works fine. This time I was stupid and drunk.

I sometimes put my K100 mechanical mod in a big decorative plastic cup. The other week I was drinking a cup of coffee in a big coffee mug. You guessed it, the PV went into the half full coffee cup by mistake. Took a minute for me to realize it too. I washed the parts, dried them, assembled and was vaping again. It was not salt water and a full dunk, but hey, other than needing to better dry out the battery, it would probably have gone pretty much the same way. Gotta love mechanicals for this.

TBH you shouldnt take any electronics that close to the beach, at least ones that are somewhat costly and you plan on keeping for long. The salty mist in the air alone is enough to corrode the sensitive electronics inside if the seal isn't tight. I used to repair electronics and we had so many customers who had taken their expensive cameras to the beach and about a week later they stopped working. I used to get a sort of sick pleasure out of opening them right in front of the customer to show where the connections on the board were all rusting away. Whenever I go to the beach I pack my ego for when im near the water and my phone goes right in a ziplock bag as soon as I leave the room. Save the good electronics for the hotel room. I'm not saying it happens 100% of the time, but even if its a 5% chance I dont want to take it.
