This is why we should ALL have a cheap battery to use around water. Although, I have known multiple people that have jumped into pools with cell phones in their pockets. A couple of them were iPhones.
I spend a lot of time around water, so I have my iPhone in a Lifeproof case. You should've seen the look on my friend's face the other night when we were sitting in his jacuzzi and I turned my phone on and purposely submerged it two feet under water! :D

As far as mods, that's one reason I bought a Reo. Fully mechanical, no electronic parts. No big deal if you take it swimming - rinse it out, dry it off, put in a fresh battery and get back to vaping. In fact, if you look at the Reosmods website, his maintenance video shows him cleaning the Reo by washing it in the kitchen sink!

this is a mechanical mod right? a spray down with WD 40 and a good cleaning (yep soap) followed by alcohol should do the trick
Pay extra attention to the connector as salt will cause a short so it needs to be completely cleaned and dry

your battery is trash

< should not post late at night - sorry I reread its not a mech .....
although the circuit board can be cleaned and rinsed with alcohol , the display is done for

Immediately stick her back in rice until you can get the gel

Try getting Silica Gel; Silica gel is a desiccant, a substance that absorbs moisture, which makes these packets perfect for keeping things extremely dry and moisture-free. you find little packs in food, clothing all sorts of stuff. And its reusable!! most folks dont know that you can regenerate it.
Once saturated with water, the gel can be regenerated by heating it to 120 °C (250 °F) for two hours. Some types of silica gel will "pop" when exposed to enough water. This is caused by breakage of the silica spheres when contacting the water..
Silica gel this is a canister that should last a lifetime with regen instructions ON the canister :) works a treat I have 3 that are similar from the looks and it will vampire liquid out of things like a fiend if you can put it in the canister if not seal it in an airtight bag with the mod

I went into a hottub with my provari. Well ot slipped and decided to join me. It died on me. Sent it back to provape. They are replacing the electronics under warranty and should have it back soon. Goodluck with yours man. Btw I didnt have a backup. Hope you have one. It suckef waiting and going to a vape shop to buy an over priced ego to tide me over.

sent from my Provari with a mini rda!

I thought a provari would swim to the edge, jump out, and towel itself off. guess I heard wrong.......

I know we all do stupid things but that doesn't make me feel any better at the moment. My fav device, V3 flat top Sigelei. How do I repay it? Jump right in the ocean....... Doh! I tried to bring it back to life. I took it apart and rinsed it with fresh water to remove as much salt as possible. Then I buried it in rice. As soon as I could get to some iso alcohol I cleaned it well and dried it with air. No dice, she's still dead. I'm lookin for another now. I found one in the classified for $40 used and found two different vendors who have them for $50 new. Ill likely spend the extra $10 and buy new. Luckily I have my magneto and kick to hold me over but damn it sucks. Anyone here bring their mod back from a swim?

if you are going to get a new one step up and get a v5- I have both and the v5 is definitely an improvement. not so much the phone charging gimmick, but the removable top ring and the new menu system are nice improvements. both are used daily but I find myself reaching for the v5 more than the v3. to me, the little bit more in price is worth it. YMMV

My Provari went swimming in dish water. I sent it to Provape and they fixed it for $25.00. If I wouldn't have fired it while still wet not thinking I bet an alcohol bath and an overnight dry would have had it working again.

You folks realize this thread is nearly 2 months old, right?

as opposed to some threads that over a year or more old? so what? it takes time to read and peruse all the different posts- are we not allowed to comment or add anything? if that's the case why don't you close the thread?
