I've heard a lot about Peaches and Creme cotton yarn and I was at a Walmart this afternoon so I picked some up. Picked up the last thing of white yarn they had, threw it in my cart and went along getting the rest of what I needed. A few dollars and bam about 700 yards of wick... no more paying a few bucks for a few feet or twisting cotton balls for me. :) Now all I need to do is order a couple hundred feet of 28 Gauge Kanthal from TemCo and I'll be set.

Yo, thats a lot of yarn haha. I use cotton string, its a lot more dense. Have you used this yet? I'm assuming you have to double or tripple it up? That could cause spacial issues in my smaller RDAs. Especially when it expands from juice. I bet that stuff is very expansive. Have you tried it yet? anyone? How are people liking this stuff? I love my cotton string.

Something weird must be happening :( I've used cotton balls/wicks/yarns in a bunch of different densities and the only time I got a cotton taste was with some cheap cotton that I suspect wasn't cleaned properly (boiled it and then it was fine). Every now and then a wick does need to be broken in and I have to vape a bit but the bad taste goes away pretty quick.
I mean all I taste when using it is cotton, boiled or not.

I have noticed this as well. I believe it has something to do with the consistency of the cotton and the fact that all of the fibers are aligned.
Is it tight in your coil? I get cleaner taste from the yarn than any other cotton.

The bolt I use to wrap my coils fits three lengths of this yarn PERFECTLY, I still use cotton balls in micro coils though they're just so small the yarn is too big.
Yes I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I don't taste the cotton or the yarn. But I do prefer the cotton balls over the yarn setup

I have the same thing in my arsenal :).

The P&C yarn works really really well and it's what sits in each of my Protank II's. It has zero taste unless you dry burn and then you'll be tasting the cotton and the burn. I do tend to let my cotton soak for 5-10 minutes, so if you're tasting the actual cotton, you may want to let it soak for a little while.

I prime the wick with a few drops, attach the post/tube, attach the tank and then let it sit. It works wonders and I can't honestly say I'll ever go back to using silica unless we can buy pre-torched, ready to vape silica in the future. I hate having to torch and prepare it and that was the sole reason I moved to cotton (cost was secondary).

I moved to cotton because I prefer the flavor over silica. The cost was secondary for me as well. I also like the ease of use with cotton, you can't dry burn it but it is really easy to slide it into a coil. With cotton I've found its much easy to change out wicks without having to build a new coil than with silica/ekowool. With silica I had to build way more coils because when the wick went bad I could never get it out without messing up the coil, cotton just slides right out. Oh and I just feel better not vaping with fiberglass I know its pretty safe but I don't know, guess it's just in my head.

Silica just has that funky taste to it before you torch it. I don't get that flavor from factory wick (i.e. new heads from the blister pack), but buying from anywhere else, it's there. I didn't see a need it paying for more trouble than I want to go through, especially when I run through 5-10 flavors a day.

Never had issues getting silica in and out without coil issues, but I will say cotton is 10-20x easier to wick through the coils. I wet one end, twist it through and trim it. Silica just doesn't work that easy, for me anyway.

I have been using the P & C yarn for sometime now and it for me works very well. I boil it for 5 or 10 minutes and hang it to air dry. There are four strands so it makes it easy to conform to the application you are building. I have used it in BCC's RBA's and tanks of all kinds. I never have had any taste from it. Like others have said be sure not to fire the coil dry.

I get a tiny strip of SS mesh and wrap it around the end of the wick to give it a solid end, after it's through I just cut it off.

Of course lol, you can just pull some of the strands out to make it thinner... duh
