So its been years since ive been to the doctor. My old doctor from few years back no longer takes my insurence so ive not bothered. I know i should be checking up on things,so now off to a new doc. I was just doing a physical and wanted to feel out her opinion on vaping before i decided to like her. When talking about if i smoked, i told her ive been vaping about a year and ask her opinion. She said her only thing about vape she she does not like is that there is nicotine still present. I ask really, thats all? She said nothing in it concerned her, only feels like its still feeding the nicotine addiction. I was happy with that answer because im not so concerned over just nicotine, more concerned about the other bazillion chemicals in smokes. Blood pressure was not such a happy report... (edit to say) Doctor gave me no reason to think bp has anything to do with vape and said "its better than smoking"
Just thought i would throw that out there because i did wonder what a doctor would say to me personally.

I believe you'll find more and more of that as medical folks become more aware of vaping and it's role in stopping cigarette smoking. Yes, there's still nicotine, but the same would be true if you were wearing a patch or chewing gum.

Hope the rest of your checkup went well.

May be you should reduce nicotine concentration since it brings your blood pressure up. Take care.
I have no reason to think the vape brought my blood pressure up though. My diet sucks and stress has been over the top for way to long. I got more nic when i smoked almost 2 packs a day. Doctor would have mentioned that thought as well IF it was a problem. She said its better than smoking. Not sure why you made that assumption...

I'm convinced just the opposite is true HRJK.

I know I, and I think many folks smoke for the calming effect the nic gives us. We used to smoke more at stressful times in our lives/day. Take away that calming effect that nic offers and we may actually end up with higher blood pressure.

No proof, no science, all just my 2 cents. Cheers.

Confronting a doctor about vaping is enough to make most vapers blood pressure rise.
Ive never before thought about these things but i came in with 165/107 and that little chart hanging on the wall about blood pressure didnt even show number that high, lol. Blood work on monday to get the scoop. Long line of issue with in my family plus i have never taken good care, guess time is now to change! However was super happy with her answer!!

My BP was high enough (6 mths after beginning vaing and had cut down from 24mg to 6) they almost took me from my docs to the hospital in an ambulance. Genetics...

You may have cut out the nic too quickly r77r7r. haha.
Over the 4 years I've been vaping I've been slowly lowering my nic. Blood Pressure has always, always been on the high side for me even as a teen.
Even with the decrease in nic. consumption over the last while the doc has me taking meds for it now.
Obviously there are many more factors at play than nic. consumption here like my age diet and genetics etc...
Some nic in my diet makes me happier and calmer/ more easy going. The "Experts" flip and flop on issues all the time, which means to me they are usually wrong and their "opinions" mean very little in the end. But! Whatever floats ur boat! Cheers.

During a recent hospital visit from a serious car accident I had my BP taken many many, times and although my BP is normal for as long as I remember (120/60) I did have my BP taken right after chain vaping some higher than normal nicotine e-Liquid. Long story short my BP was slightly elevated after I had just vaped some 18MG. Not medical science here and although my BP was not through the roof and I was waiting to be released it was a tad higher. Almost 130/70 and I was not really annoyed waiting to be released.

Perhaps, lol. It was easy to cut back that far. Then I got Quitters disease (chronic ulcerative colitis) soon after and took it back up to 12mg to help with that. Wasn't the great year I thought it'd be...

Sweet. I told my doctor I vape and she just said "so when are you gonna quit smoking?" I said "but I have quit" and she rolled her eyes and said "so when are you gonna quit nicotine?" I told her I was not entirely sure that I did plan to quit, and that was the end of that conversation. Next time I went in, the nurse asked if I was "still smoking" and I just said no. So she wrote "former smoker" on my chart and that was that.

When I asked the doctor about my lungs after the chest injury he told me I was the healthiest person he examined in a month. So I said, I guess I quit smoking at the right time. He looked at me surprised and asked me.......... You were a smoker??? I said yes almost 40 years of Marlboro Reds! He looked at me to see if I was serious and asked me..... Really? What are you doing? I said Vaping! He said well keep it up!

I've spoken to my Doctor about vaping, and he has no problem with it, as an alternative to smoking. But, as with most doctors I assume, he would prefer that I do neither.

Yep, that is what mine said - but between the two he is glad I am off the burning ones...

If I get asked if I smoke I say how long it has been since I gave up smoking. I do not volunteer information unless it is asked for. Like when the doctor asked me what I was doing. Was there something in the tests or X-Rays that made him think that way? I forgot what I read about the lungs starting to clean themselves after quitting.
