I'm a little shocked that ANYONE allows vaping in restaurants. As far as I know, they do not allow it here. Bars, maybe,,,,,,,restaurants, no.

I didn't see this first time through. I've vaped in restaurants in NC, NY, NV, GA, and FL. It is allowed in your state and if you ask, you'll probably be given permission. It's not smoking and we need to act like it's not.

The fact of the matter is that restaurants ought to encourage us to vape in their restaurants.
Every time we do, we are sterilizing the environment at no charge to them.

I've sent a query to Wetherspoon's as to what their actual policy is in regards to e-cig usage.

That post was on 7/4/2012. I finally received a reply this morning-

Dear Mr ******

Thank you for your web form dated 4 July 2012.

The issue of whether or not electronic cigarettes can be used in our pubs has been considered at the highest levels within the company.

Due to the appearance and workings of an electronic cigarette, there have been occasions when these cigarettes have been mistaken for real cigarettes by both staff and customers. We have also on occasion experienced customers attempting to pass real cigarettes off as electronic cigarettes resulting in customers actually trying to smoke in the pub. Although these incidents are rare, they can result in the pub being heavily fined.

Therefore, due to the problems experienced with the monitoring of these cigarettes, we can confirm that we do not permit the use of electronic cigarettes in our pubs and will not be reviewing this decision for the foreseeable future.

We trust this information assists you and thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Kind regards

Jackie
