Hi everyone. Here is a story (true) that might help someone else. mods, if this isn't the appropriate forum, I trust your judgement to put it where it belongs.

Think of the Beatles song that goes "Woke up, got outta bed, dragged a comb across my head, found my way downstairs and hadda cup, Looking up I noticed I was late...."

That was the beginning. I dashed out and totally forgot my ecig kit. I had one smoke built and it was in my pocket. I figured it out on the way to work.

At work I took a hit and the battery started the superquick blinking that told me it was dying. Oh great. No kit and the smoke won't last the day. I just made a payment on prime real estate in stress city.

Too shorten the story, I was jonesing hard and bummed a smoke.

It was awful. This was a marlboro red. It was the wrong size since I am used to a 4081. It had no heft. The flavor was off and left a NAS-T taste in my mouth. The odor was foul. And it was about as satisfying as having an ash tray scraped over the teeth with a rancid bath water rince. No satisfaction.

Lessons learned.

  • Leave a spare kit in the car.
  • buy or build a passthru for use in car and house.
  • Don't bother bumming a Marlboro Red.
  • Despite doubts, you either get nicotine with e-cigs or the psych effect is far stronger than analogs. The MR eased the obvious crave but wasn't the total package any longer.
  • I am truly a non-smoker now. A nicotine addict to be sure, but I can live with that.

Hope this helps anyone with doubts.

I'm Phil and I approved this message :toast:

I keep spare batteries and cartos at work, in my car and in my jacket pocket. I vowed early on that I wasn't ever going to find myself empty-handed. I concur about the nasty Marlboros, too - I tried one after about 3 months of vaping, and couldn't believe how rotten it tasted, especially after having smoked thousands of packs of them. A good lesson learned ;-)

I bought a PCC specifically to keep in the car, and at the very least leave a battery in it and a bottle of Marlboro juice in the armrest. Sometimes I'll keep an extra cart and/or atty in the PCC and occasionally leave another battery in the console. I feel good now that I have enough gear to keep in the car as backup.

I made the mistake of running out of supplies my second week of vaping. I refused to go to analogs again, and paid 30.00 for 15ml of juice at the smoke anywhere kiosk at the mall. THAT will not happen again! I am severely overstocked on juice now, and I keep a PT in my truck. I also have 9 KR808 batteries, carry my PCC, and now I carry my mod which has a 24 hr battery life!

After a week of vaping I bummed a smoke from a coworker (when my mini battery died) and got the NAS-T, ashtray dumped in the mouth taste. They were marb menthol lights, what I used to smoke. Then I bought an eGo, I don't have to worry about the battery anymore.

I'd never been so happy about tasting something gross. That's when I realized I don't want cigarettes ever again.

Now I'm all about backups, but has anyone thought it through with regard to batteries in the car? I mean in the summer, when it can get above 100 degrees in the car, is it WISE to have a potential source of explosion in your vehicle? It's for this very reason I don't keep ecigs in my vehicle. Now a PT (without battery) makes sense.

Well, since I am a female, and it is quite OK for me to carry a purse...my batts and PCC stay with me all the time, the only thing that stays in my truck is my PT. And, I do leave it plugged into the lighter adaptor, but only because that gets no electric current when the key isn't turned in the ignition :p

I have a sense of how you feel. I keep a backup PV, atty, liquid, charger in my owrk bag at all times. And as far as going back to ananlogs? I want to qualify this by saying when i smoked, i LOVED to smoke. Now... analogs smell like well, absolutely AWEFUL. I can't imagine smoking a real cigarette. I'd guess it would be like eating a nic juice soaked turd. Hope you never have a e-fail again. I'll burn a candle for you.

Yes cigs are so nasty!
Last yr when I started I had issues with batteries. I finally got so frustrated that I smoked after 3 weeks because I couldnt keep batts charged. It was nasty but my nic addiction didn't care that the cigs were nasty. Unfortunately I got use to them again after a couple of days. I fell off the vaping wagon for a while and came back as soon as I could afford more decent batteries , lots of them. It took longer the second time to quit cigs, so now I have 8 kr808 batts, 2 eGo batts, a couple PT's and an Indulgence on the way. I have a mini lab I carry in my purse, a medium size lab for weekends away and the drawer full of stuff at home.
I am now at 23 days with no cig and I don't plan on falling off the wagon any more.
