Just some musing thoughts...
We are presumably the "last of the smokers" as vaping replaces smoking and the entire globe begins to wean off the cigarettes through the vape. Sure, there will be diehards, but those will fade into the ether over time. There's always been diehards in any fad society, but I see vaping as a last ditch effort to continue smoking without burning tobacco. Some will vape until they die, and I will probably be one. Others will grow weary of the tedious nature of maintaining hardware and juices and just drop the nic to zero and slowly reduce their vape frequency to nothing.
I can see technology producing pre-filled throwaway cartridges that produce a wonderful vape for a day or two and then can be tossed, much like the pack of cigarettes we use to buy. Not everyone sees the need to accumulate hardware as we have done. Throwaways will eventually corner the market for a significant portion of the vaping public. Eventually, cigarette companies will have to find a new product for a new market or die a similar death like those that produced the phonograph record.
