Hey i pulled the mouth piece off and there is a rubber piece with a little metal piece sticking out of it. I pulled that off and dropped some juice directly in, and it def made a difference in the taste. The vvn i have has two wicks coming out of the top and reach down to the bottom of the tank. Both juices I have tried in it have been 50/50.

In that case it's not an issue with vaper's tongue. The next thing you want to do is clean it and dry burn to get raid of the gunk on the coil. Here a youtube tutorial by Phil to show you the steps: A PBusardo Tutorial - Vivi Nova Cleaning & Rebuilding - YouTube starts@ ~8:00

When you resembles the parts back together, check and see if the silicon cover is chocking the wick from where the wick is coming out of the slits when you screw the top cap back on. If that is the case, lightly unscrew the top cap and and give it a few vapes to see if it helps. If it does help, then you might want to consider take out a few strands of wick with a pair of tweeter so you can screw the top cap tightly.

Now that ive added the juice as you recommended I have a gurgling sound when I take a drag.

The gurgling is normal because now it's over-saturated with eliquid. To get raid of the gurgling, just remove the VVN from device and take a hard blow into the mouth piece and the excess eliqid will shoot out from the bottom.

It's a knockoff Vivi and not a genuine Vision Vivi Nova.

OK, so #1, I just bought this tank yesterday. #2, once I take my mouth piece off, I dont have anything to unscrew. Just a rubber cap that pulls off, with access to see the coils at that point?

Once you remove the rubber cap, you should be able to pry the metal piece that's sticking out to expose the wick/coil.

I paid 8.99 for the one tank.

Some sites are selling the Vision Vivi Nova for less than $10 and that includes 3 heads. For your PV you would want the Vision Mini Vivi Nova 2.0 ml- would look best on your PV. Have been using my Vivis for 7+ months without any dry hits or leaks and heads are lasting 10+ weeks. They still fire great after 10 weeks but the wick begins to disintegrate so for $1.50 per head I just change it. It's sad because these knockoffs give the genuine Vision Vivi Nova a bad name and in most instances when someone's having a problem with the Vivi turns out it's a non- Vision Vivi.

Just because it's a clone, it doesn't necessary mean it can't perform as well as the branded (unless it's the clone of the V1). Don't need to feel bad as I'm currently vaping on my Tabec T3 clone on my ghetto Ego mechanical mod and still enjoying every vape. :vapor:

I agree. I own a "clone" eGo PV and it performs far better than the "genuine" eGo. I'm not brand loyal and prefer to buy based on performance. With my non profit vape prog we chose 20 Visions Vivis and 10 Knockoffs...Visions got a 100% approval rating from users. Knockoffs got a 20% approval rating.
When it comes to Mod batts though I always choose the brand name.

Ok, I think im going to run by the shop today and have them vape from it and get me setup with a new one. Something just isnt right with it. It had a wierd plastic taste to it when I first got it, which I just though was normal for new tanks or something. The question is, do they know they are selling rip offs to customers.
Plastic taste could be due to vaping at too high of wattage and scorching the rubber grommet. Well, if your local B&M allows return/exchange then see if they have any bottom coil clearos that are available. Having experience both top and bottom coils, I would recommend bottom coil clearos (BBC, T3, EVOD, PRO) to get the most flavor out of your eliquid (in terms of clearos).

The package didn't have the name "Vision" on it so they weren't misleading you. As for the plastic taste I ALWAYS wash my new clearos, tanks, etc before I use them and realize also some acidic juices will damage and leach the plastic tank. They have metal sleeves to address this issue. It's the same as the name "eGo...it's no longer a brand name but a style/ class of PV...just have to make sure of the origin/ manufacturer of that particular "eGo". Lots of knockoffs out there even from the largest manufacturer of PVs.

Well, here is the thing. The setup I have is an obvious knock off. Now, when I went back to the original place to buy some more juice I had him throw the original tank on a VV battery, and even though I was told it should come in between 2.4 or 2.8 it was actually showing 3.3 on the VV battery.

So, This new tank I have shows on it 2.4 horse shoe symbol. So could the issue be with my battery then? Pushing out to high wattage?

I guess i have "clones" since it is a Smoktek that said vivi nova on the boxes that i threw away and says vivi nova on the tube....i haven't had any problems with either the mini or the XL....other than user error when unscrewing the bottom endcap when that wasn't my intention LOL
both also came with 3 heads.
I wish they were cheap in price...i'd buy 30 of them :)

What device are you using? In general, most people vape between 6-8W depending on the setup and eliquid. Typically, it's easier to scorch the rubber grommet with low resistance than high resistance head on the same wattage. For reference, here's an automated excel spreadsheet made by another ECF member to help determine what voltage/resistance range (default range of 6-8W).

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...mated-vaping-power-chart-vapingpowerchart.xls

However, depending on design your VVN, the burnt taste could also be attributed to factors other than the rubber grommet as Vapoor suggested. For instance, there's a silica skirt wrapping around the wick/coil (at least on branded VVN) which are easily scorched and gives off a burnt taste and had to be removed completely to get raid of the foul taste. The bottom line is that most delivery systems are finicky in nature, if you don't want to deal with the the hassle of having to troubleshoot or aren't interested in rebuilding them to save you $$$, then I would recommend you give carto+tank a try. Less hassle, more consistent performance, and it'll save you time/$$$ over the long run.
