Hi Peeps

Maybe someone can help me? I decided at the end of last year that I should use my Screwdriver more and stop smoking cigarettes. All was going well until a couple of days ago when I began noticing that I wasn't getting much vapour from the Screwdriver. Now, I have a Tornado on order which I hope will be here witin a couple of days. But just wondered why the Screwdriver is not working as well as it has done in the past? I use 18 mg fluid. Do you think I would get more vapour with a higher liquid like 24 or 36mg? Or is it simply that you have to accept that vaping is not the same as smoking and get on with it!?:)

The amount of vapor produced has nothing to do with nicotine content. It's composition does though. VG heavy juices will produce more vapor and less throat hit. PG is the opposite.

How much have you used that atty? Have you tried cleaning it? Tried using another one? It could just be clogged up or near the end of its life.

vaping will never be exactly the same as smoking, but I easily get as much vapor as I ever did smoke.

It could be a number of things (coming from a noob).
My atomizers aren't lasting long, probably user error. I clean them once in a while, though there is some debate on cleaning methods. Sometimes that helps.
Another thing to look at is the filler material in the catridge. I started using the aquarium filteral material, and that helps.
Of course a fresh battery vapes better, maybe your battery is about to expire.

I've had a Screwdriver from Trog for quite awhile now. Preventative maintenance is VERY important. Take it totally apart and use a q-tip or similar with some alcohol and CLEAN everything. That means taking the button apart(don't loose that spring) and wipe/clean it all. Wipe everything you can. Take your cart/carto off and clean all threads/adapters whatever. Make sure and clean the threads on both pieces of the body. The final step I do when putting it all back together is to apply "Noalox" to the threads of both body pieces and then thread it back together. The Noalox helps conductivity with aluminum. Can be found at Home Depot or Lowes, which is where I got a small tube for a few $. Should last quite awhile too since you only use a dab.

If you can "see" a surface, wipe/clean it. You could be AMAZED at what this will do to your Screwdriver. I've used mine in the Afganistan desert/weather and it will vape like a beast if I do my part. You should also keep a spare button spring assembly too, and always make sure that you tighten it up well when putting that button back on. many of lost part of that assembly cuz it backed out and fell off. Not me...never had any problems. I use E2 cartos most of the time and it works great.

Hope this helps. Let us know - OK?
Good luck.:vapor:

As someone above said -

- Atomizers wear out or burn out eventually. Nothing that makes heat lasts forever. But it might just be gunked up. Do you periodically clean your atomizers? Every weekend I swap to a clean dry atty (after priming it with juice). I soak the dirty one in alcohol (making sure all air bubbles are out of it), swish it around a bit, leave overnight, next day scoop some alcohol through it to rinse out any dissolved stuff, then shake it out hard and leave it to dry on paper towels (or you could use a blow drier if you needed it faster). Also - I always have 3 attys - the two I am using, swapping and cleaning and one total unused spare.

- cartridges can get gunky and the air passages get clogged. I had a whistle tip cart that got really hard to drag on, I could only get a little vapor, and it was all because the air channel to the mouthhole was clogged up some. You can try switching to a new cart or try washing the old one.

- juice - is it your usual juice? 100% PG juice makes less vapor than (for example) 70% PG / 30% VG. PG lets TH through better and VG is smoother and makes more vapor

- and if you have threaded battery connections, check them for residue or a film or juice on both sides of the connection (atty and battery) and check inside your charger. A film of juice in those places can cause weak or no charge, or weak or no heating of the atty.

My neighbor had the same problem after he had been vaping for a few weeks. After we checked the fluids, fluid type, cleaned, and the other things that have been suggested here, I just watched him vape. What it looked like to me was that he was "trying so hard" to get the vapor back, he had started using short, rapid puffs and/or was taking one long, but very fast, puff. Both can be a real vapor-killer. He just had to re-remember the different method of puffs. He guessed he had started to take the e-cigs for granted.

Right - one thing I forgot to suggest was flooded atty (which can keep the atty from heating properly). Take off your atty and blow through it into a tissue - if it is flooded then a decent mount of juice will get blown out. And while you have it off check the atty to battery connections area and make sure it is dry and clean.
