OK......had to send in my mini woodvil because I guess I collasped the spring.
This is because of a short....am I right?

While my mini was sent in for repair I bought a Woodvil 18490. Just arrived today.
    WOOOOHOOOO right....
OK brand new batteries also arrived today, put them in and charged them up....so far so good.
Put on my HH 357, take 2 drags and damn it shorts out, spring collaspes and now I'm without either mod.:(
OK, now I have to send this back to Rob, not even 2 hours after I got it..........

My question..What am I doing wrong....any ideas would be helpful as I sure don't want this to happen again.

Just wondering, is it the same atty that you used on the Mini?

Usually it is a atty or cartos that causes the short. That would be where you should look first. If you have a multimeter then you can meter your atty. Most often it is the connector that is messed up and sticks out too far. If that little ring in the center is not flush it can contact and short out. Also do not overtighten your atty's. When they screw in do it slowly, turn till they stop then back it off just a tad.

Yes it was the same atty....but I have been using that atty for over a month.
Do you think it is just THAT atty? I have a new 357 I have never used yet but I'm afraid to use it.

I was soooooo happy to finally get my new reo today. Hope this is no indacation of what this new year is going to be like.

I would say that is the culprit then. I would either toss it or wait till you get a multimeter and test it. Look at the bottom of the atty. Does the very center stick out any?

It might be a good idea to buy a couple of extra springs in case this happens again, then you can replace them yourself. You may need a soldiering iron though to do this but they are cheap and not that hard to learn how to use. That would be better than having to wait for your Reo to come back. Good news is, once you get your Reos back you'll have a backup. :)
