Got the VK yesterday and used the vanilla carto. It was perfect. Great, consistent throat hit. Today, I put on the cappuccino carto. Good throat hit for the first few hits, then very sporadic after that. After trying for about an hour, I gave up, thinking I might have a bad carto. Just popped on the coffee. SAME THING!! Now what the heck am I doing wrong here? The only differences I can see between the vanilla and these other two is that when I hold them all up to the light, I can see a clear path through the hole of the vanilla, but it's not quite so clear through the other two. I'm a bit doubtful that I could have two bad cartos, so I can only assume that the problem is with me. Any tips? Thanks! :)

I find that the coffee and capuccino (most flavors actually) need to be at least 16mg to get a good throat hit. I vape the 6 or 8 at night when I just want taste. Definately try them on the passthrough - the passthrough wows up most flavors I find! ;)

I think KC pointed out on his filling the cart video that sometimes the stuffing gets misalligned and it will kill the cart, and he shows you how to reallign it so you can see through it. Watch the video and see if that helps - odd that you got two in a row though that you can't see through.

Can someone link that video I wanted to look at it too but lost the details
Thanks

Thanks for the replies! I did change the battery, which helped immensely, but since I had just put a fresh battery on not one hour prior, does that mean one of the batteries isn't holding a charge well?

JenJen --I would love to try my passthrough, but I can't. My USB card doesn't put out enough power. :(

Could be. I would charge it for 4 hours and then see how it performs. If it still only holds a charge for an hour let Steve know. I ordered a wall usb thingy for the passthrough, it was not expensive. I will let you know. The passthrough is definately a must have! ;) Even if you have to "borrow" your daughter's laptop!

You're usin the AC charger, right? if your usb doesnt put out enough to power the passthrough, odds are it doesnt put out enough to charge with either :(..as a trouble shooting tip.

The bad battery was almost certainly the suspect, whoever suggested that...wise call. Typically the battery is *always* suspect particularly with a new cart.

An hour is uncharastically short for a genuine VK batt, my thoughts would be that it wasn't fully charged somehow ...when you thread the battery into the AC charger, ensure you get the confirmation blinks from the "ashes" end of the battery and the green light comes on. If you *dont* get the confirmation flashes, take it out, wait at least 30 sec, and screw it back in. The protection circuit makes it do that 5 flashes or whatever it is...failure to blink sometimes indicates that the protection circuit didnt notice you were trying to charge it..which usually = fail to charge properly

Okay, I am a techno idiot, so I'm not following you. lol. I have a charger that I plug into an electrical socket and then I screw a battery in. The passthrough is just supposed to plug into my USB socket in my computer, right?

I see.

Thanks, I will keep an eye out for that! :)

AC charger plugs into a wall outlet then the ecig fits snuggly inside, the light will change indicating it is in and then will change when it is done (also the LED light at the end will flash blue when it starts charging)

USB charger Plugs into a computers USB port its about 3/4 of an inch long you can plug a PCC case ( that case you can charge yourVK e-cig in on the go to charge ) THe PCC case has 2 led lights inside the top one will turn on red when you plug it into the usb and the bottom one will turn red when you plug in the ecig (also the LED light at the end will flash blue when it starts charging)

or a USB charger

If it is the USB charger the terminal end fits snuggly down into the round slot until lthe light switches from blue to red indicating it is in and then will change when it is done (also the LED light at the end will flash blue when it starts charging)

When they are done either the light will change color or go out it generally takes 5 hours or overnight as a general measure

Another thing is you might be covering the small air intake holes too much. There are 4 on any battery 2 on the top 2 on the botttom they are very tiny
the 2 on bottom are easier seen. The 2 on top will line up with the open groves on the cartomizer try adjusting that so holes show or making sure your not putting your fingers over them. Hope this helps

Okay, I am now COMPLETELY confused. Ack! lol. I am going to try to understand exactly what I have here. I have the PCC. It plugs into a USB port. I won't use it in my USB port because I doubt it will charge. HOWEVER, it looks like it came with a car adaptor, so that means I can charge the PCC in my car using the adaptor, right? I have the passthrough, which I already know I can't use (although my husband will be going out tomorrow to see if he can find something that will work). Now, I have this other thing, and I can't quite figure out what it is or what to use it for. It plugs into a USB port, but on the other end is a large hole. What is it and what do I use it for? The battery won't screw in there, so I'm kind of stumped.

What a good hubbie! There are certain specifications that I am sure someone will chime in with, I don't have a clue what they are lol! Takes a while to figure out all the equipment doesn't it! Hang in there, you'll get it figured out! ;)

Okay, I watched closely tonight with both of my batteries. The one battery did give the confirmation blinks when it screwed in and charged up fine. The other battery I just went to charge now. It is almost totally dead. No confirmation blinks at all, and in fact it showed as fully charged when I screwed it in. Kept doing that until I unplugged the charger. When I plugged it back in, no confirmation blinks, but this time at least it showed the red light instead of the green, so it is registering as needing a charge. Does the lack of confirmation blinks mean it won't charge properly now?

Probably will only find out when you use it. Could be a problem with the battery, but if it holds a charge for as long as the other one maybe it was a fluke?

Yeah, it could be a fluke. I've got the cappuccino carto back on again, and it's just not performing consistently --and this is with a fresh-off-the-charger battery. I just have no way of knowing if it's a bad battery or a bad carto, or if it's just that this flavor is on the milder side. I'm getting plenty of vapor --just inconsistent throat hit. Sometimes very strong, sometimes nonexistent.
