yes I think this is what has happened nothing seems to be grabbing but sometimes it IS I paid 57.00 and I either broke it or it is a dud However I was convinced my little mini nautilaus was a dud and it was not- I had a bad batch of coils -or the tobacco demons have been messing with my kayfun 4 -all I wanted was a way to test juice to heck with this gizmo tomorrow I shall go in search of a dripper

Funny part about the loose spring in my K4 was that it caused a coil short with an internal popping sound in the iStick 50W. The iStick died and wouldn't turn back on. Plugging it into the USB charger reset it. Now that I've stretched the spring and re-established a reliable contact point, maybe that won't happen again.

okay folks this thing is driving mr bonkers I have stretched the spring disassembled things till I'm blue in the face , dropped little white things till I am blind and sometimes it will fire the coil sometimes not and the ohms jump from 1.7 to 5

Did you happen to lose the little square steel block with the threaded hole in the middle that the center contact screws into? That will cause the spring to rattle around with almost no resistance.

You can find a nice single coil dripper if you look around for under $20.

well I bought two little dripper one is a 4 post plume veil clone by ehpro I did get one coil on and had a vape the flavour seems much stronger the other is a baell by tobeco eldiablo I have not been able toget the two little coils to go above 1 ohm consistently to permit my Istick 20 to fire the bael I am debating buying the Istick 50 I think there might be something said for the dripper the flavour seems stronger I don't have enough experience or knowledge to try anything other than protected mods my coils are not real pretty they are kind of lumpy perhaps if I keep trying I will be Abe to get the ohms up I seem to have trouble getting higher ohms

hello folks I am an old lady with failing eye sight - I think I bit off more than I can chew I have built. 4 tiny coils for the kayfun4 clone except it keeps coming up at 0.2 ohms and of course the Istick 20 watts won't fire - man it is finicky I tried 28 kanthal that some youngster suggested there are 10 little wraps why does it say 0.2 WHAT is the deciding factors- the size of the wire or the number of wraps my other wire says kanthal D 0.32 it is frustrating to wrap the little coil get the itty bitty ends screwed down and the get a reading of O.2 and not see the glow I have only had one success and that was for the evod -suggestions-education-or just vape on my nautilaus mini and Istick and send the kayfun 4 to the bottom drawer - just wanted to learn to build a coil and txt a little juice- think I bought the wrong set up I am a beginner

Please watch several of these Video's...smxdrifter has a LOT of great information available.

no I don't think so all the pieces seem to be there or at least I have the parts that match the drawing that came with it -so far the most reliable set up seems to be the Istick 20 with a nautilaus mini topper and sometimes an evod tank I did buy two little drippers today and am trying to make little coils but I keep coming in quite low in the ohms so sometimes my Istick won't fire I am debating getting a Istick 50 so my little coils will work more often- they are not the smoothest coils

thank you I watched part one of making a microcoil I shall see more as time permits
I think I have finally done it - well sort of both my little coils glow but one is a little tiny bit slower than the other- I am afraid to put cotton in them just in case the ohms go down again it is now reading 1 .2 and I have the Istick on top firing ability if it drops once I put the cotton in I will have to start again because I have clipped the wires

I've solved this problem once and for all.

Though I use this on an authentic, hopefully it works on the clone (provided its as close to 1:1 as possible)

I realize it might be a little late to reply, but I agree with Grendle that a jig of some sort might make things easier. I got this one and am pretty happy with it:
Amazon.com: Fatal Black Coil Jig for RBA / RDA / RTA | Micro, Macro & Nano Coil Builder with Deck | 510 Thread / Kanthal Wire (Various Colors Available): Health & Personal Care

Also, the IGO-L is a very simple, inexpensive yet very tasty and good performing RDA, less than $10 here
Youde UD IGO-L Rebuildable Atomizer

Of course there are all sorts of different wicking materials, but rayon seems to be pretty popular and cheap:
Amazon.com : Graham Professional Cellucotton 40 Ft. Box : Hair Styling Product Accessories : Beauty

Personally I started with 28 ga kanthal but to experiment I tried some 26 ga and I really prefer it. About 8 or 9 wraps on a 2.4mm inside diameter gives me right around 1 ohm. I run this at 3.8V or so and seem to be pretty happy. Using the jig I can build a coil and wick it with the rayon in less than 10 minutes easily. I did also buy a precision screwdriver set, one of which is very close to the 2.4 mm diameter. I like to place the coil on the screwdriver and position it as I tighten down the leads. This really helps me from squishing or bending the coil, holds it in place real well and I can even get em close looking to all the beautiful pictures I see on this forum :)

thank you I did build a couple (after buying a little gizmo to help) and I have a el diablo Baal very nice little dripper with fat flat head screws I like it better than the plume veil clone only because I don't seem to flood it as easy. I have seen the packages of premade coils but wanted to try it myself - my coils are not the prettiest in the world but they work and I have used Japanese organic cotton some young lad sold me organic hemp but I don't like the funny taste , some other lad gave me bacon cotton to try but I have not done so yet.
