So i recently started vaping a while ago my first e cig was the famous KR-808 from V4L. I like the size of the device and the fact that it has a PCC and is a 2 piece (cartomizer style). The problem was the fact that i could not find a juice that tastes good enough for me to stick with vaping. I have used vapornine turbo carts and V4L blanks and prefilled. I am sick of filling blanks with juice just to find out they have a burnt taste right out of the box or just don't work. When they do work i generally am not a fan of the flavor. I have been getting all my juices from BWB becuase they have such great reviews. I am starting to think i need to find a better cartomizer or just drop the KR and go with something else. I have watched countless reviews over the past week and my ears are bleeding from all the information and options. So i though i would let the experts throw some opinions at me.

Things i would like to stick too if possible.
Prefferably small
PCC
Cartomizer
Better than the KR-808

Any information you can give would be great.
Thanks!

Excellent question. The KR808 is an excellent starter -- and I still use mine several times a week (along with an Ego, pass throughs, mods, etc. LOL).

All the equipment is useless until you find those few magical flavors (my personal favorite -- FSUSA Cocoa Chaos, 2x flavor, 50/50 mix).

You are correct in that tasting flavors through cartomizers will take you FOREVER. Buy yourself a pack of atomizers and drip tips so you can drip directly. You can buy the 501 and a 501/808 adapter as well. This way you can drip 3 drops and know immediately (plus it is a cleaner taste). GreenHouse One has very inexpensive atomizers (have to wait for the freight and they don't last terribly long in my experience -- but worth it for the price)

Once you find those few flavors, then step up your equipment. You are welcome to PM me anytime for my personal advice. It is likely worth what you are paying for it LOL!

The kr808 are some of the best cartos made imo, they last a long time even at 6v and produce good flavor. The first couple things that come to mind are - 1) Are you filling the blanks right and 2) are you using a good pg based juice 3) Have you ever tried a juice that tastes really good to you.

What would I do?

First I would remove the filler material from an old carto and try direct dripping before I spent any more money. You can pick up a cheapy drip tip for a couple bucks and this will give you an idea of how a regular atty will perform without spending money on a new starter kit.

You may be having an issue with your juice, I would try some different flavors and different vendors. Try to stay away from vg blends that contain >50% vg, I love vg but it can be a nightmare when your using cartos.

So basically I would pull the filler out of an old carto and use it direct drip sample bottles from as many vendors as possible. Vaperite, avejuice, freedomsmokeusa come to mind when I think of sample packs. You should try kickbassvapor also, no sample packs but 15ml bottles of great juice for pretty cheap.

Happy Vaping!

For a much better performing and tasting (and more expensive) Kr8, I recommend the Bloog MaxX Fusion, which I reviewed here. I don't even think of it as a Kr8, but as a Kr8-compatible. You may very well like their prefilled flavors. [I am partial to the 555.] They refill as simply and easily as any Kr8, but the juice tastes better in these.

The eGo-T attys/tanks (especially 2ml-capacity type B) are very good and the current iteration of them are very easy to fill and have no burnt taste. [To get an increased kick, I'm curious to try the LR type B tank attys and to use the standard resistance ones on a 3.7V fat batt (such as the 750 mAh Special Edition Riva-510 or 1100 mAh SLB eGo/KGO), but I have not yet done so.]

The best-tasting atomizer I've ever used is the 801 penstyle. It is considerably larger than other attys (other than eGo megas and tanks). With a 901-to-801 adapter (e.g., $1 from Good Prophets: "808/901batt-to-801atom"), it works well on your 3.7V Kr8 batts. [This yields an e-cig ~165mm in length.] These days, I use it primarily on mods with 901 fittings and I'm looking forward to trying it out (using a 510-to-801 adapter) on a 3.7V fat batt I recently ordered. These all require dripping, unless you use them on a good juice-feeder like the Ali'i or Reo.

My favorite 801 is the East Mall version (e.g., from Vapor Junction), which is lower resistance without being "LR." I am also enjoying a 2.0 ohm LR 801 that I just got from IkenVape. In the same family as the 801 (but incompatible with it) is the Leo (atomizer or new huge-capacity cartomizer), which has its own proprietary battery. Perhaps the best tasting of all, but the atty/batt combo is not delivering as much power as I would like.

As for e-liquid, if you like tobacco flavor, I highly recommend Halo. My favorite is the Torque 56, but you might prefer some of their others. NHaler's Drewbacco 1 is among the best nutty-tasting (Hazelnut?) tobaccos. And the new RY4 from IkenVape (PG or VG) is very good.
