Hi there,
just wondering if some one could help me my new Evic vt60 settings, I've just received this yesterday, and was using a Odyssey VW with RCS tank before, using 18mg ready mix juice.
At the moment I've got the Evic in VT mode with the Nickel coil, set at 230c and 40w, and still using the 18mg ready mixed, which i'm finding way too strong now.
could someone recommend a good setting to start with on the Evic , and maybe a good PG/VG juice ratio to go with.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated for a ignorant noobi .... so I can start enjoying my new toy..

Cheers

Hi Kurly and welcome to ECF :)

Your question is mostly about the RCS tank. The Evic vt60 will put out the power you ask of it, but the tank has limitations that you'll need to stay within. The temperature protection will hopefully keep you from experiencing burnt hits, but the heat of the vape and the amount of vapor is controlled by the power, not the temperature setting.

I don't know that tank but after watching a quick video on it I suspect it will not handle high power levels well. PG/VG juice ratios don't really matter a lot unless your juice is so thick because of high VG content that it won't wick well enough at higher power levels. IMO 230C is a pretty good starting point, but if you get any burnt hits you might do better at say 220C.

'Way too strong' is I think the result of too much throat hit and that comes from higher nicotine levels and/or higher power (watts). Lower one or both of these enough and you will find the vape is less harsh. The higher the watts you set, the more juice you will vaporize per second and so the more nicotine you will inhale per puff.

If it were me, I would try lowering the watts to around 15 and see how that vapes with your juice. If that's not enough for you increase the watts slowly until you get a comfortable vape. Take your time with this. At 220 - 230 C you should not get burnt hits, but if you do lower the temperature and see how it goes. The temperature setting stops burnt hits, the watts control your vape.

Hope that helps a bit and let us know how it goes :)

Where are you Kurly? (UK or US?)

If you have gone from a TW VW device and an RCS coils system (under 10 watts?) straight to using an Evic VT at 40w with a temp setting and 18mg e-liquid, then you have a lot to think about.

Firstly, if you have quadrupled your vaping power, maybe you should reduce your nicotine level by an appropriate amount. If I bought a high power device and wanted to use it at 40w, I'd be looking to use 3mg at the most. If you are used to 18mg, then even 6mg is probably enough at 4x the power.

I would just dial it back to 15-20w for the time being and sort out some lower strength liquids. I can't enjoy vaping 18mg at even 20w, so you might find it too strong too.

Hi guys, thanks for the advice, but I think I 've got it sorted now, popped into my local vape shop today and had a good chat with the owner, who went over everything on the Evic VT with me, letting me try different PG/VG ratio juice's on different settings, and basically gave me the same advice you guys have given me.
Invested in some new [3mg] higher VG juice's, and " WOW" what a difference, brilliant vape now, really loving it.
thanks again for all your advice and knowledge.
