Hi! I'm stocking up on hardware as everything good will be banned in Europe within 5 months. The Subtank Mini is on my shopping list but I would like to know from users what are the parts that need replacing most often?

At the moment in my shopping cart I've got:
-2x glass tank replacements
-1x rba base
-1x set of o-rings

is the actual Subtank base worth buying too? I can't see how this would break really...
anything else I'm overlooking?

Thanks

If you want something built like a truck that'll last you years you're best bet is a simple 3 post dripper, preferably one with the negative pins milled directly in. Even a clone of something like a tugboat which can be had for about 12-15 dollars would last you virtually forever and wire/cotton isn't going anywhere.

But you asked for subtank parts, I gave you my list but I'll toss my 2cents in here the Subtank isn't exactly a very durable piece of hardware.

I would buy an atty that wouldnt break ;)

dms25, I'm thinking the same thing as Bunnykiller. There are tougher tanks out there and if I wanted to future proof myself I would lean in that direction.

A couple of good, inexpensive drippers wouldn't hurt either :)

I know I didn't answer your question, just wanted to give you my opinion.

Hope things don't get too nasty for you folks next year!!

I have couple of Subtank Minis and I like them. Not as much as a couple other brands I own, but they are solid and I use them almost daily.

I have broken a glass and needed an o ring so far.

I just ordered 6 glass tanks, 10 o ring sets and 3 RBAs for my Subtanks just to have around. Glass is about $1 each, o ring sets are about $0.20 and RBAs are $6-10.

Fasttech is super cheap and I don't have a problem buying fake glass and o rings. I wouldn't buy fake coils, bases or RBAs though.

Thanks for the suggestions. The Subtank is just one of the things I was looking to buy as I like to have a back-up pre-coiled tank laying around just in case. Now some of you have got me hesitating, and I still have my old Aerotank Mega lying around for that purpose.

So if you were to recommend something "built like-a-truck" what would it be? For single-coil builds only please...

At the moment I've stocked up on:
2nd hand:
-Squape R
-Vapor Giant Mini v2.5
-Taifun GS v2 clone
-Genesis v2 clone

And looking to purchase new:
-Kayfun Lite
-Lemo 2
-...?

never used a dripper before but open to suggestions...

nothing unless you're careless. ;-)
i've had several kanger tanks over the years, including a protank mini that i use regularly for about 2 years now. same o-rings, same glass tank, etc. works and looks just like the day i first got it. BUT... if i had to pick one part, it would be the glass, because it's the only "fragile" part that can break if dropped.

I've broke glass, and once lost my tanks AFC base in my work truck, it fell into the defroster vents. So I'd say glass, and maybe those vape bands that are supposed to protect them some, I haven't tried them yet. And maybe a base or 2. Also stockpile coils, or like others have said the RDA coil and parts.

I just ordered Subtank clone ($14) as a part of my preparation for future times, so I am eagerly reading this thread. I also ordered glass and a set of o-rings (10 of each, $2). Advice about RBA puzzles me. What can go wrong with this one besides stripped heads of screws (and I can find screws elsewhere, not necessarily from vaping vendors)?

I wouldn't mind having two or three of them just to have different builds on, ready to go when I wanted to change out..

You have a pretty good selection of dependable tanks already IMO :). Genisis tanks are about as tough as they come. The only parts that might become a problem down the road are the two plastic insulators and they can be bought. I have a bunch for mine just in case.

Drippers are generally all pretty tough as long as the insulator under the positive post doesn't go bad and you don't buy one that has known issues. I've been using a couple of authentic Mutation X V1 daily for over a year now with no issues. They cost around $30 last time I bought if I remember correctly. If you like smaller attys my Vicious Ant Cyclone was also used daily for over a year and is till going strong.

...

the thing that the subtank gives you is replaceable rebuildable coil heads instead of having to keep multiple bases.
