I had 2 Vamo3's one died a total death from falling 36", the other had a fall from about 28" and the screen died. The 510 threads are chrome plated brass and the brass loosens up after a couple to a few months leaving you with a wobbly topper syndrome... other than that I was very happy with them... but Im even more happy with the SVD...

image.jpg Personally, I like the MVP (won't roll off of tables and fall, cracking your glass clearos) and you don't have to buy batteries, a charger, PLUS I get 2-3 days between charges. Even with a good Sony battery in a standard mod I have to charge daily. AND completevape.com has the MVP for under $40 with shipping. If they're out of stock, they ship within a week at most btw.

I own 4 vamos, v2/3/5 and since i have purchased an SVD i haven't touched them. Being the SVD is brushed stainless, which means i dont have to worry about the finish or putting it in my pocket with change or my keys i love it. For just a hair over $40 on ebay they are my new favorite. If you get a chance to try one out do it. But, for the money vamos are still one of my favorite mods.

the vamo at the right price is a steal for $10 more the svd is a bit better either will get the job done but i prefer the svd mainly for its build and less airy draw.

If changing your power source changes your 'airy draw' then you should perhaps get other toppers.

Chances are the problem is the 510 interface; better consistency with an eGo thread interface.

I have a v5 and it's always been good to me. It fell off the kitchen table onto ceramic tile and crushed the + button which I was able to fix after finding a part that would swap in. Last week it fell off my toolbox at about 4 1/2 ft onto concrete and crushed the - button. I'm living with that right now because I don't feel like messing with it. Other than that I've had 0 problems out of it. It gives a very good vape with every topper I put on and I still use it every day. Only complaint is the length of the thing is ridiculous.

You can use it in short mode with an 18350 battery, PLUS the tube you take off from the bottom to use in short mode, you can screw on to the TOP AND screw the top cap ontop of that and so protect your pyrex tank from the next time it falls.
I put the lighter and battery in the pic for size comparison

My parents were heavy duty smokers myself as well, I got 3 v3 's one for each , we all beat the hell out of them get them dirty, have gone through 4 Pyrex replacement tanks for carto tanks to give you some idea of how hard we all are on them and they are all fantastic, I run 1.5ish ohm r91' s and carto tanks and they are great. I have a lot of great gear and the vamo is definitely a good device.

If your going to upgrade from a vamo the only thing to do is get a provari, you will see the difference but if you don't you will never know and be just fine.
