What is a "wrap"?

Thanks

A wrap or skin for your mod - like these from J-wraps:

Here's mine:

Just got my Vamo V5 the other day. Apparently they have done away with the RMS - Mean setting.
They come(at least mine did from fastech) in RMS mode standard.
Seems to vape like all my other devices, so i believe it.
The thing that bugs the crap out of me though, is non of my 510 toppers sit flush on the top. I do spin the top cap up to meet the heavier tanks that i use, but its still a neg point. Although for the price, dont really care tbh!
Oh and one other thing, i dont know if its me doing accidentally or what, but every now and again, the damn thing switches to VV mode from VW. Weird.

I have had one since Jan 17, and have had no problems with it. Have used it nearly exclusively for that amount of time. I have a second-hand V2 that needed a bit of work, and it is one of my backups, safely put away. Thinking about buying a Mukey Vamo next year.

Pretty much ditto, except my V2 was bought new :D

I love mine, with that being said I have loaned it out to a coworker in order for him to test out the waters before dropping $$$ on a mod that would be to far out for him. He loves it but now wants a hammer with a kayfun that I will be sourcing out and building. Good choice to get going with before dipping into mechs and rebuildables. Here is a family portrait minus the Vamo and shoebox full of egos, c-twists, Iclears, protanks, etc....image.jpg

The vamo is like my f-150 truck. Good value for the buck.
V2's were the last with mean/rms switching. A 'few' newer models did have this feature causing confusion.
To find out, with battery installed, start to screw in back cap. You'll see a firmware# for an instant. This will tell you if you have the rms/mean function on your device. That being said , I don't know the FW codes. Might try the manufacturer or fast tech..

Nope. V5 I got in March 2014 had the switching mode. Left button push for about 15 seconds will put you in the menu for mean/RMS.

Vamo's Do have a firmware version.

V3 firmware version can be verified by:
Remove the Battery Cap
Press and Hold the Fire Button
Reinstall the Battery Cap
KSD 2.0 or KSD 3.0 should be displayed on the OLED display

Story is that KSD 3.0 allows switching Mean/RMS (verified on mw Vamo V3) while KSD 2.0 does not (RMS only).
This being true explains why some V3s won't switch Mean/RMS.

The mention earlier regarding MEAN/RMS. If yours is like all of the Vamos I gotten to date, it will come in MEAN mode. Set it to RMS first thing. The setup instructions don't mention it or how to set it up. Hold the left or right (+or-) button down for 10 seconds. The display should show RMS. If not, do it again until it shows RMS.

Can you explain what this does and the benefits? I just started using my Vamo V5 last week and have NOT altered this setting...
