they've definitely perfected the art of copying / cloning ..add that to a lack of regulation and endless cheap labor ..they make enough profit to not even need to try to innovate

I know, it bugs me, they aren't a dumb country that's for sure, got some of the smartest minds on the planet, but I'd bet if they hired one of the real engineers to just innovate instead of tear down we'd get some stellar products. I read recently that their culture does not consider copying wrong, in fact it's the opposite. We are appalled, they rejoice... the world runs on many types of people :)

good thing most of the time lol

That said, got a coolo mod today, the Blade slider, I think it's a new concept, not that I am an expert or anything but it looks new to me.

did they copy this from anyone?

it works by lifting the battery chamber with your thumb/finger, slides really nicely.

Hello Eric: I did not order the Smoktech RSST (it's an AC9 clone) yet, but would like to eventually. Here are some links if you want to check it out:
Here is a video review from ECF member Almighty God, compares the RSST to the AC9. AG found them to be comparable, difficult to tell apart in performance.
This is a link to Taste Your juice. The best part of this page is the image gallery, many good pics.
This post is from the Ceramic Wick thread. The flexibility of the wick hole is key here, for those of us who would like to try ceramic wicks but do not have machining equipment in tiny NYC apartments.
Please check it out. I am likely overstepping a line here, but one vendor is allowing a preorder for one RSST for about $26. Another vendor's price point is $36. I have also seen them listed for much more. However, no US vendor currently has stock that I can find, which means I have to wait either way. I'd rather purchase one from you it you decide to carry it. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the info. :)

I have seen some pre-orders like this.
I am not going to use customer dollars to fund a shipment. I am not saying anyone is doing this, just I won't, also with my latest fiasco (delays, wrong shipping) with two big manufacturers it is clear I cannot rely on them to deliver when they say they will anymore.

I'd feel really guilty taking someone's money for a month! In any case, 36.00 is too high for that anyway in my opinion, mine would be close to the 26 I think or somewhere in the middle at least.

I will look into this, I have to put an order in with ST soon anyway, to be honest I initially thought this was just the R-Tank with a different "coat of paint" so to speak.

Thanks for the education. I didn't know that was what the pre-order was about. I don't know if many other people have asked for this, but I am looking for at least one, possibly two, if that helps you figure out how many to order. Thanks for checking it out.

It may not be, I do not know what other vendors do so please don't take that as me saying someone is doing it, I wouldn't know. It's certainly a legitimate and probably a good way to do it (lol)

However, if I were just lowering a normal price on something that doesn't make much business sense, it would have to be on something I wasn't paying a lot of money up front for.

example: I put a deposit down on 100 $50 dollar items, I sell them normally at $75, but because I do not have to outlay the 5000 right away and can presell them I have no risk and it's all lossless profit and I can sell them for $65. They come in, they go out. If the presale isn't going well, I lower the order.

If I pay $5000 for 100 $50 dollar items and I do not post them until I get them, that is potentially 5000 in loss if they do not sell, so the price has to stay at 75. A Pre-order takes all the guesswork and risk out of it. But it opens the door for a late or incorrect delivery and lots of potential misery on the customer side. At least that is how I see it.

so it's not a bad thing, just something I do not do currently. No one ever accused me of being a stellar businessman lol

Lol. You're not a bad one, either. I would rather give someone who is up front and honest my money than someone who is faceless and seemingly untrustworthy. I don't know what the other vendor is doing with the pre-orders either. I personally don't like them because the vendor is selling something they don't have, which doesn't sit well with me. It would be different if I could sign up for a reserve list. At any rate, thanks for explaining it.

Hey Eric. I just thought I'd let you know I purchased some 2 cent fuses from another vendor. I don't know if you have carried them in the past, but it just seems like a good idea to have another layer of protection. I haven't tried them yet, so I don't know if they would affect performance but thought I would give it a try.

Stone Face the fuse works well the performance is the same learned the hard way to use them.I had to rewire a bolt that was using with a rba that shorted out use them all the time now.
Thanks - good to know. I had read about them months ago and didn't think I would need them. I've done some more reading and have reconsidered. Safety first and all that...

Yes. It's actually a copy of the Apex "Alpha"

Didn't wick very well if I remember right, It still took a carto. In concept, it was a great idea, but due to the high price and vape quality it was a dismal failure.

Not to sound harsh, or bust any bubbles, but the MOD was a dismal failure as well. Dust and dirt would get into the sliding switch and cause misfires..The whole MOD and Tank was scrapped not long after release, and the Apex name disappeared off the map..

The switch was said to work "even if wearing gloves" ...but proved otherwise over time...

i was reading a financial forcast newsletter called the Kiplinger Letter recently. they are saying that in the coming years, labor costs will be going way up in China. to the point where many US companies will opt to manufacture in the US. im not sure if this means much to the vaping community but it might.

also, the blade looks a lot liek the thermovape vaporizer. im not sure if Alpha or Thermovape came first.

Eric I was wondering if you could carry some xc-116 ceramic wick? I bought some from another vendor and I like it. I used it to rebuild my protank heads. Might be something you could carry, I think it would sell well because it performs well in regards to wicking and I don't get that nasty burnt taste after a dry burn.

I don;t know what that is? Or where to get it. Is it a competitors product only?

I'm lusting over the iTaste VV by Innokin as an entry to VV.....I like that it detects clearo resistance and sets the voltage accordingly.

I might also suggest a battery like the Firefly, to me the fact that it tells the discharge state by the color of the LED, is a great feature.

I have had both in stock, the firefly did not sell well at all. (if we are talking about the same one, with the light on the bottom?)

Unfortunately a lot of the Innokin VV models have higher return rates due to failure. Over time I try to cut out the stuff that have problems, I have a specific percentage that I use, if a product goes over that percent in returns for defects it's no longer purchased. :(
