a big pet peeve of mine about vaping has to do with when i watch video reviews. literally every single reviewer inhales and then opens their mouth and blows the smoke out all goofy. does that make sense? nobody does that at home so why do it in videos? it looks so goofy and drives me nuts. its like they all think they have to make an O shape with their mouth and blow out vapor like that as soon as they are on video. gaaaaaah! bugs me just thinking about it.

Why does every review have to include blowing vapor at the camera? We know every e-cig made produces vapor. All they're doing is proving the battery works.

And ...

Hasn't anyone heard of editing? Y'know ... when you shoot some video and go back and take out all the boring stuff? All the awkward pauses ... the lurching for the right word. Most of the videos I've seen were obviously not scripted. Just a general idea of what was going to be said and let the video roll on and on and on ...

Here's a hint:

Write It Down First. If you don't know what you're going to say ... Don't Turn The Camera On.

There.

When someone thinks I'm smoking ... when I'm not ... and they get ...... about it ... and when I show them it's an e-cig ... they're still ...... even though there's nothing for them to be angry about.

Case in point:

I was vaping away waiting in the parking lot for the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria. There were No Smoking signs posted on the fencing surrounding the parking lot. A customs guy came up from behind me and said in a angry but controlled voice, "Don't let the No Smoking signs intimidate you sir."

Since my back was to him he hadn't seen the e-cig, just the vapor.

I turned around and went through The Explanation: It's not a cigarette ...this is vapor not smoke etc.

It wasn't working. He thought I was smoking, got mad about it, and when informed I wasn't smoking ... still tried to justify feeling ....... After all ... he was a Customs Officer and if he was ...... about something, he must have had a good reason. Therefore I must have been doing something wrong.

Looking back at it ... It was 90% my bad. There I was in a designated "No Smoking Zone" producing something that looked like smoke. But I wasn't paying attention to signage. I was preparing myself for 90 minutes of motion sickness. I was distractedly vaping.

But ...

It bugs me that some people can't change their minds when confronted with facts that contradict their assumptions. Which is why, I guess, that 11 out of 10 political discussions go south almost immediately. It's a lot easier to disregard facts to hold onto a personal belief ... especially if you're already emotionally involved.

What else bugs me about vaping? Ex-smokers who quit years ago and went through hell and think I'm getting off easy. If they had to suffer ... why shouldn't I? Very similar position to the anti-tobacco crowd who think that if I was stupid enough to start smoking in the first place ... I should make do with the patch or the gum to get off cigarettes. I should have quit smoking instead of switching to an e-cig. What am I doing having ... fun?

But in reality ... I'm just picking a few nits. I'm so happy and relieved I don't have to smoke anymore that putting up with uniformed or misinformed yahoos is a very small price to pay.

Vape On.

When friends of a friend ask me to nag the hell out of a mutual friend to get them to switch. Case in point: I have a co-worker who smokes, and one of his friends came into the shop. He saw my e-cig and came over to me. He proceeded to tell me I "had" to get our friend to switch.

I am a firm believer in letting people live. If you want to smoke, that's all on you. It isn't my place to tell you you should quit or switch. I hated it when people told me "smoking is bad for you, you know?" and all that other crap. So I won't nag friends into switching to e-cigs. You see mine, you've asked on your own about it, you chose not to switch. Not my problem, it isn't my life or my health, it's yours. And it irks me when other people decide it is my sworn duty to convert all smokers to e-cigs because I did it.

Mine are a few that have been mentioned here.

People recomending a new person to start with a mod. I think a good start is a Joye Ego with MAYBE a LR atomizer at the most.

People that ask me for a lighter or to bum a ciggarette when I am clearly vaping.

People that say, "Why smoke an electronic cigarrete? You might as well just quit cold turkey if you smoke that."

When people ask, "What is that?" and I tell them for them to say, "So its a fake cigarette... what is the point, that is just plain stupid...". Or simply... "Is that one of those stupid fake electronic cigarettes?"

When People see me smoking an E-cig and decide to switch over from an analog. They dont ask about what model I have and buy somthing like a Blu and dont know about nicotine level, other models, etc and get upset about wasting 80 bucks and blame you for their faults because they still smoke cigarettes.

When people push/recomend highly expensive mods on people when they have limited money and think that because they are expensive, the are superior.

When people believe that because they own a specific mod it is the best and they only recomend those.

When people ask on DIY about what percentage of flavor they say, "try it yourself" instead of "I do them at 15% so start from there".

When people look at you as if you are smoking a real cigarette and give you the "evil eye look".

When people start coughing or cleaning their throat when you vape near them.

When I ask for a cigarette on the rare ocasion from a friend and they say, "You have an E-cig, smoke that? Whats the point of smoking that if you are going to smoke a cigarette, you might as well not even smoke a E-cig at all!"

Those are the ones that I can think of at the moment. I am sure there are more but since they dont come to mind they probrobly dont bother me as much.

Hahahahahah, now THATS a beaut.

Although i disagree partially on your recommendations of mods. if someone had told me sooner about a provari or lavatube, or something similar. i wouldnt have spent soo much money on average stick mods, trying to get a perfect vape. echo, ego, igo, kgo, ... i'd have loved it if i had been given the advice of either of the afore mentioned mods 11 months ago. wasted alot of time with some of the sticks. althought i DO have to say, the little kgo was an excellent mod, and i still have it. it was sooo easy to use that thing, with a carty, now with tanks, there are so many more steps before i can vape.

Yeah, I get that quite a lot but one of the worst offenders is my step-dad. I can smoke a cigar or ciggarette right in his face and he will smoke a cigar and nothing. Yet the second he sees me holding my PV he starts coughing and clearing his throat. I will be in the car, not even smokeing the thing the whole morning, once he looks over he starts coughing. My mother says, "its all in your head" and hes like, "no, its that stupid thing he has, cough cough". Yet he can be in another room and I will vape like crazy and he doesn't cough. The second he looks over and sees a puff of vapor, he starts coughing and clearing his throat saying, "I need water, or a ricola or somthing."

As for your post I do agree but at the same time I dont. I think starting off someone needs to "learn" about PV's before going into mods. If you have a friend that can teach you then I see no problem but alot of people are trying it for the first time and the last thing you want is spending money find out that E-cigs are not right for you or you dont know how to maintain or care for your PV. I had a friend that started e-cigs before me and would go though atomizers every few days to a week. First time I started my atomizers lasted at least a month. Now they last 3 months or more.
