Bet your sinuses are pretty clear by now though. Picture please :D

Sinuses? What sinuses??

I see your point John - I wouldn't say its critical tho. Some new vapers have found the twist is not for them - and have bought something else. I think we need to just be open to not one size fits all. I think we've seen all your points in favor (please don't wall of text me in reply ).
I have personally helped vapers who started with a twist and were ready to give up vaping. it really wasn't for them. I' m not saying they will never try vv again, but they really didn't want it to start with after trying. On the other hand, some people start with a twist and it absolutely works for them.
I think the bottom line is that beginners have a journey usually, and if what they have doesn't work lets help them find what does - whether that means trying vv or ditching vv to start with.

I am saying that variable voltage saves more lives than constant voltage. I see saving lives as "critical".

"I think we need to just be open to not one size fits all ...."

I'm not even sure what this means. Variable voltage is inherently superior to constant voltage. Get it in whatever "size" you can, if you can. (When are look-alikes going to be available in VV??)

"I think the bottom line is that beginners have a journey usually, and if what they have doesn't work lets help them find what does ..... "

As I've said and will continue to say, I think that the first step of that journey is best taken with a VV device in hand, and that IMO the only conceivable exception is if they absolutely must have a ciggie look-alike. And as I've also said before, I wish the starting point of "VV eGo + Vivi Nova + juice" had been available when I was just starting out. I find myself unwilling and unable to refrain from recommending it as an excellent first step.

Oh, another vaping pet peeve (ECF related only). The ENTIRE forum, it seems, calls ECBlend "ECBlends".

There is no s. There is no s. There is no s. There is no s. There is no s. <- That's for the next 5 people that call it ECBlends.

Maybe they changed it to ECBlends when they introduced their second juice.

Agree with the above. I quit smoking using a cig-a-like. I didn't know any better...it worked for me. That was the bottom line. I smoked over 2 packs a day for 43 years! Chain smoker. Incorrigible. Then I started learning more by hanging out at various forums. I started upping my equipment...vGo, then eGo, then jumped to LavaTube (version 1) about 7 months into my vaping journey. Funny thing....I was enchanted by the "gadget" element of the LT for about what? 2 or 3 weeks? Then I put it aside and went back to my X2s and my eGos & kGos. I didn't see the big deal. I set my voltage on the LT same as the regulated voltage on the X2. What's the big deal? Higher tasted burnt. Lower wasn't bad...but why have a VV if you are going to go LOWER??

When the Twist came out...I was sorely tempted, but resisted because of what I'd learned with the LT . When hubby started vaping full time I got him an X2 which he loved. Later I got him a Twist...not because I thought he needed one, but because he vapes a variety of juices and I thought it might be good for him to experiment. Also I was curious about the Twist. He did like it pretty okay ...at first. But then reverted back to X2 and then the eGo. Meantime I got my own Twist and a kGo VV. They are nice devices...but they spend most of their time in their case now. Hubby's Twist sits in his "vaping cup" mostly now.

We both mostly use the eGo T Mod now. When he's out and about he likes to use a dragon etched ego 650 mAh. When I go out I like to use the 3.7 Gripper. But at home...we're all over the eGo T Mod (which does offer some voltage choice...regulated 3.4 or unregulated from 3.4-4.1) It's enough.

The point being that VV was NOT something we found particularly suited to our needs. It's not bad...but we could have saved some money by skipping that step altogether. It's like being ten foot tall. Good for some things...not so good for others.

Here's what you should have put in bold from my post: I have personally helped vapers who started with a twist and were ready to give up vaping. it really wasn't for them.

Enough already, there's provaris to talk about. And tobacco flavored juice. And EC Blends, er Blend.

When someone comes in and asks what to get, and doesn't need something that looks like a cigarette, I just tell them to get a couple of VV eGo batteries and a couple of Vivi Novas. It just seems to me that that's a good thing to be vaping on while they explore all of the other options out there, and is about the best bang for the buck, performance-wise. And I'd rather vape on that setup than be ten feet tall; the former is much simpler to modify.

I've never been much for anecdotal evidence. I think that overall, beginners - or anyone else, for that matter - will get a better vape with VV than with CV. [Yes, if you're experienced, you can get a fine vape with CV, as you can as a beginner if you're lucky].

The fact that some people - for whatever reason - don't desire VV doesn't change my view that VV increases a person's chances of being successful at quitting smoking, so I'm going to continue recommending it to beginners.

As for "enough already", I didn't start this latest go-round .... and I don't even see why we're talking about ProVari's.

I'd rather argue about what juices do or don't taste like tobacco, which is, oddly enough, one of my pet peeves. :)

So far none of mine have really tasted like tobacco - except a Greensmoke I vaped a long time back. That was the closest. I'm kinda off tobacco flavors now tho - except 555 which doesn't taste a lot like tobacco to me. I vape Mt. Baker Vaper Ry4 because I like the flavors in it - nothing like tobacco to my taste buds tho. Or my nose. Or whatever part of me registers taste. (Phew -trying to accommodate all views on that one. :D)

Funny you should mention that, my first ecig back in 2009 was an Njoy pro, and it came with menthol carts, and that is still the best menthol I have ever tried. A close second was totally wicked's old glass bottle menthol, which they discontinued :( Haven't had a decent menthol since.

And it's funny that YOU should say that! Because my first PV was a Safe Cig...menthol. And I've never found a menthol I liked better ...well, until I started making my own, that is. I quit smoking with that Safe Cig. Bless it's little circuits.

I agree with you because people's tastes are different. Apparently, I crave high-power……to the extent that some of my smoker friends think it's too intense. But I also used to smoke Lucky Strikes and thought they were smooth, so that might have something to do with it.

I'm still agonizing a bit over my next purchase and might just end up getting the top contenders and returning what I don't like, but I'd be fine with CV (as opposed to VV) as long as that voltage was 6V instead of 3.7V. I'd just change which heads I used in my vivi nova (the best vape I've gotten was 5.5V on a 1.8 ohm head that read 2.2 ohms on rnoserious's provari). And I think there are a handful of CV mods that look a hell of a lot better than the Provari.

My pet peeve: how much I want a Provari, despite the fact that after handling one, I'm sold on the performance but not on the asethetics or weight.
