I'm back to being all confused about this.

If you buy a 510 from Jeff, you can also buy 510->801 and 510->901 adapters from him. The 901 comes "with air channel for use with Cartomizers." But... using an 801 with an adapter may cause a short.

If you buy an 801 from Jeff, you can buy 801->510 and 801->901 or 801->cartomizer adapters elsewhere. This would virtually eliminate the likelihood of a short from the 801. But would an adapter for a 901 that did not include the air channel work with a cartomizer?

I don't drink and now I don't smoke. I don't know where to put the stress that all these decisions cause.

Any adapter you by will say 901/808 adapter this will allow you to use 901 attys and Cartomizers whether it be adapted from a native 801 or 510. If it just states 901 adapter then it may not have the air flow to use Cartomizers. And 801 to a 510 or 901/808 will eliminate the chance of a short. I hope this helps :)

Cartomizers (KR808) and DSE901 use the same threading so the same attachment works for both. But the 901 has a hole for airflow in the atomizer and the cartomizers don't. So if you ever buy an adapter so you can use your cartomizers on another battery, make sure it says cartomizer or 808 in addition to 901 or else you won't get the needed air.

And I still can't figure out if I should change my order from a 510 to an 801 because of the shorting possibility.

Use the screen mod on your 510 atty. Now it takes some fiddling, I have one that acts and performs well and the other I kinda mashed up wrong. I reuse the screen by lifting it out with a pair of sliver tweezers. I go through about three 510 batts before I even have to refill.

Now if someone could just mold a 510 cartridge tip with a screen cap that you just popped on instead.....well that would make it all perfect.

Take three screens, available at your local smoke shop-less than a buck for a pack of five- stack the three screens, wrap them over the top of a pen cap, crease in two of the sides just a fuzz, fill your cart just over 3/4's of the way to the top and stick them in. No mechanical skills needed.

I get a bit of gurgling/flooding on the thinner liquids but works good with a pg/vg mix.

so the 901/808 is the correct adapter right? I ordered the one on his site, does it come with all 3? Cause I don't remember specifying it anywhere

Check with Jeff.

From Thagbuilt
Available with either a 901 801, or 510 connector.
The 901 and KR808 have the same thread connectors but I don't know if the 901 connector needs an air channel. The adapters from a 510 to a 901 that Jeff supplies do have that.

My guess is that if all you want to use are cartomizers, the 901 connector is the way to go. But that's the one connector I didn't consider so I don't know for sure.

It says on his site 801/901, so I assumed that's one adapter all built into one! All I'm going to be using is cartomizers, I can't fancy the idea of dripping!

If you order with a 510 connector, for $5 you get the adapters for 801 and 901. It specifically says the 901 adapter has the air channel for cartomizers.

I thought you were talking about which basic connector to get. If you order with a 901 connector and you want adapters for the others, you have to buy them somewhere else.

My dilemma is that I use both an 801 and a 510 but prefer the 801 slightly. I was going to order it with an 801 connection and buy adapters but I decided that I'd rather have the adapters Jeff sells so I ordered a 510.

But, apparently, 510 to 801 adapters can cause shorts. So I'm back to thinking that I might be better off getting an 801 Chuck and buying an adapter for that connection.

Eh. I ordered on 2/24. There's no way Jeff's even looked at my stuff yet. I'll give myself until this weekend to decide.

I still don't get it. The numbers just don't make sense in my head:-x. Someone just tell me what I need:p. I only use cartomizers, I will never drip. So which connector do I need and which adapter? or does it just come down to preference:lol::lol::lol:
