I am definately excited...It's been almost two years since I've used a PV... I started with a standard joye 510, then graduated to a Bartleby... For whatever reason I went back to analogs :( I really need to quit them (after 20 years)....I have been eyeballing the GLV's for quite some time now, seems to be THE one that fits me... I am excited to try 5v and this mod seems burly tough and will fit nicely in my hand and I love the switch placement.....This is gonna be great

I really like the GLV line as well. I just picked up a mini (from that first build list that shipped to MN). I got it so that I could try the GLV @ 7.4v and 6v. I don't have any 3v batts so I couldn't try 6v but did try it at 7.4v - now that is a kick in the throat... over 7v is going to be too much so I just need to get the 3v batts and check 6v. I don't need the dialed in voltage like many of the more expensive mods have in the VV mods. I just like the simple, straight forward looks, quality and design of the GLV. Just don't need all the bells and whistles of the rest of them.

So the GLV-2 @ 5V will self regulate what ever you put on it correct? I thought I saw that in a spot a while back. I am using dual carts that run 1.6 to 1.7 ohm on an ego right now and the taste is good. I built a 5V mod running off of 110V and I get a burned taste on some of my juice with that. I believe this is because they are running too hot, but this should not be an issue with the GLV I hope.

That is what I understand - the GLV2 5v self regulating which it may in fact do. But I tried a 2.5 carto in my tank the the 5v and noticed a cooler vape than what I expected. So whenever I can I will use 1.5 and no more than 2.0 cartos in my tanks from now on. I get good warm TH's with lots of vapor with them.

I got my GLV today :) and am liking it....As expected, it is very comfy in hand and going from a 3.7v to this 5v I like the warmer vape and it's definately more flavorful..I am running a 1.7 atty (borrowed from previous 3.7v mod) Waiting eagerly for monday's mail delivery of my new cartos and attys ranging between 2.0 and 2.5...plus a slimline tank :) Now I just need Mrs. T's to open back up to try some of her juices I keep seeing people rave about :) Thank you all so far for the help and I'm sure I will have more questions :) Bryan

Where is the "sweet spot" in the ohm range for the GLV 5V? I am looking for nice heat and good vapor quantity. would a 2.5 ohm bee a good middle ground or should I lean to the 2.0?

2-2.5 ohm is best/ go 2.0 ohm for warm vape

The GLV-2 5V has a 1ohm resistor build in. What that means is that the voltage is spread between the two resistors; the build in one and your atty/carto.

In practice this means that the voltage delivered to the atty raises as the resistance of the atty raises.

Let´s say you have two batteries delivering 7.2V total
You have a 1.5ohm atty
The total resistance is 1.5+1.0=2.5ohms
7.2/2.5=2.88amps
2.88x1.5=4.32volts being delivered to your atty.

Same with 2.5ohm atty
2.5+1=3.5
7.2/3.5=2.06
2.06x2.5=5.15volts being delivered to your atty.

As you see what mostly affects the warmth are the quality of the atty not so much the resistance
And the total voltage being delivered by the batteries
The resistance of the atty is also a factor but less so what you would think
One should get good and warm vapor with higher resistance atty too if the atty is good and batteries do deliver good voltage with enough C-value

I use a 3ohm "FinnishSpecial" and have very good flavor, lots of vapor and good warmth. I´m using AW ICR batteries. If I need more warmth I use AW IMR batteries.

Alright, I got my cartos today and have attached a single coil 2.5 to it and the hit is very warm (almost hot) Is this normal??
maybe it just needs to be broke in?? Thanks again everybody for the help here :)
And 1 more question about cartos (first time user of them) when brand new they have the lil white gasket thing at the top that you remove to fill... Do you put that back in and down to accomodate a tip or do you leave it out and put a tip on?? Right now I have left it out
