Lack of knowledge/interest in learning more about vaping. FYI, its a tobacco shop, but they carry a bunch of clearos, tanks, mech mod clones, by only 1 gauge of kanthal and only ekowool. They carry some great liquids, 5 pawns, etc, but have no knowledge of coil building/wicking, etc. It bugs the heck out of me.

A new Shop opened up ... about 2 minutes away from me.
I wanted to buy a new tank..
I said to him: I need a new Tank, This Nautalis tank is horrible.... I am getting dry hits ..it sucks !
He Replied: No. .dude that Tank is awesome....You just need a bvc !
and he was right!
He could have sold me a $50 pos tank...
but instead ...he sold me a $3 atomizer ....

THIS IS WHAT I WISH WAS NEAR ME!!! That is service!

I don't expect the pricing like internet pricing, I also don't expect premium juices at junkyard costs. I would like honest, clean knowledgeable people that don't try to push their preference on customers, but then again I am strange.

Not strange at all! I'm more than happy to support a local shop when they provide service, heck doesn't have to be great service, just service.

i went into one of the new shops in the nearby metro area a while back (i live in a small town about 30min away) and the first thing i saw was a few sheets of plywood with holes drilled in them to hold various flavors of juice all in little tanks. there was zero sanitation, and i could only assume that people had been slobbering on these things and putting them back in the holes. granted they had just opened but there is no excuse for something like that, and needless to say i couldn't get out of there fast enough and haven't been back since.

theres about 10 vape shops here im at. only 6 seemed worth going to after looking online and calling. so out of the 6 ive been to
#1: half vape shop half head shop. they dont know anything about vaping and all they have is mini protanks and juice theyve had on the shelf for months maybe years
#2: very popular vape shop, people know how to use e cigs but are misinformed about details, prices are stupid high but carry good product, worst of the worst juices puchased all wholesale online.
#3: actual vape shop, seems like its run by a few friends all of who like to subohm at .1, lots of good product doubled in price compared to online, clones cost same as authentics they have good house juice
#4: vape shop right behind my apartment: limited product as if owner spent all the money on opening in the spring, local and online juice which is all terrible, 1 out of maybe 6 employees knows what hes talking about but is not up to date on products, the rest care about insagraming the shop/products
#5: tiny vape shop in weird cheap location owned and run by one guy who knows NOTHING about e cigs but had money to "start up a business in a young market"
#6: vape shop 35 mins drive but only shop i will go to right now. best juice ive ever tried and 90% of the juice i use comes from here...low prices (11 bucks 30 ml) good flavors and most def the smoothest juice ive vaped at 50 watts on a 1.4 ohm build in a plume veil. they have ok mods not many atomizers the owner knows the market but not the product very well, there are problems with employess and the owner but theyre there to help and are friendly. really the only good thing is the juice which i by far the best and i recommend trying some ASAP pm me for he name of the shop even though they suck at online ordering.

so go back to 1 out of 6 vape shops i went to. out of all the places i am willing to drive to the only thing a b&m will offer me is juice. sux....even though that juice seriously is THE BEST

There are 2 shops locally for me that I will frequent -

#1 - makes his own juice, but the hardware is a bit pricey - larger shop and bright with big windows so it's a pleasant place to sit for a bit

#2 - currently my favorite, will custom make juices, as his assistant called him, the "Vape Shop Barrista", it is small so like SmokinRabbit said it can get pretty hazy in there. Prices are great, and the sample selection is huge. He also has a basket 'o samples on the counter that he discounts because it's not his line that he carries, but he puts them out there for his customers to try. He made me a caramel vanilla ice cream coffee, that is steeping, but great right off the bat (had to try, couldn't resist). I can't wait for it to sit for a bit, I'm betting it's going to be really good :)

The rest that I have visited were not very welcoming, and were a little "full of themselves" would be the best term....but I have a lot of local shops between here and work to check out yet....

One suggestion if you're buying online versus your local B&M. (Assuming they have something you want.)

Try negotiating.

I've bought a couple of items this way.
Their convenience, knowledge, and service is worth something---so do not expect internet pricing.
However you may find they're willing to work with you on a price that's fair for both.

Id much rather come here and engage with the vendors that participate in the forum and actually care about what were doing

This are my sentiments exactly. I would much rather give my business to Walt, dino, and Clark than some no name behind a counter that doesn't care to know my name and doesn't put prices on things, just charges based on how my house it looks like they can get off of you (yes, one local b&m actually does this!)

Wow don't get me started about my local b&m vape shop. For starters they are over priced ridiculously! They don't carry rdas or rbas, they don't carry wire or wicking media. And what really burned me was they sell knock off merchandise as genuine and the very last straw was they told a friend of mine, a brand new vaper, how to vape incorrectly so she would burn out her coils faster and have to buy more .ugh. she had a bottom fed tank and they told her to tip it upward when she vapes. Not only did she look ridiculous, but the juice wasn't getting to her coils and they were burning out real fast. Why they told her to do this is beyond me. The ONLY thing I can figure is so she burns her coils out much quicker and has to buy more. Ugh.. that's just down right wrong!! I felt so badly for her and explained this is NOT helping her. Another reason I can't stand them is they sell juice for a 10 ml bottle for 15 dollars! ! They make a absurd claim that it takes two days for them to make a 10 ml bottle.! I make my own e juice and it does not take two days to make a 10 ml bottle. Maybe 2 minutes but 2 days!! They are dishonnest, unfair, and down right awful. And they feed their unknowing customers a line of crap. And the new vapers don't know any better and they prey on that. When I first started out vaping I went there for juice and they said they didn't have my 24 mg but could make 24 mg by adding to the 18 mg. He took STRAIGHT nicotine WITHOUT MEASURING it and put three droppers full in the juice. I got home and had to throw it away. Later after learning to make juice I realized he could have made me seriously sick with nicotine posion. He didn't even measure it!!! That was it. My B&M store is so awful it should really be shut down! ! I hate to say that but they are truly that bad.

I have no complaints about any of the B&M's around here. Some are more knowledgeable than others, but all are very friendly. I have one place called Platinum Vapes in Hayward that has kind of turned on to my go to shop for Juice. They make a great flavor called 7 leaf tobacco, and it's 7 bucks for 15ml. if you buy 3 bottles you get 50% off the third. So for right around 20 bucks you get 45ml. That's not bad if you ask me.
