I was struggling with all my equipment. Burning through coils, burnt hits, too much cotton, not enough, etc, etc. One day I rebuild both Kayfuns three times and neither of them would cooperate. As a last resort I dug out a cheap dripper I had on hand for testing flavors.
On that very same day I got one of the worst phone calls a mother could receive. My youngest was contemplating suicide and was calling to say good bye. Damn I needed a vape and nothing was functioning properly. (including me)
The following day I ordered my first Reo. Never again was I going to be completely stressed out with nothing to vape.
Son is doing well now. We survived the storm. Reo is doing even better. I've never had a bad vape day since and feel secure that I never will again.

Since my very first vape I've been a flavor chaser and all of the MVPs and cartos and tanks on the planet just weren't doing it for me (albeit SO much better than the EVOD experience). While searching for flavor I ran across Nicoticket and the REO pushers there sent me here and the rest is history. I was NOT interested in doing my own builds I just wanted to quit fussing with tanks and those stupid coils and leaking and spitting and dry nasty hits and no flavor....I only keep them around for emergencies which I never have with 2 REOs. LOL

I'm one of the few who is finding I hardly use my 2nd REO. I just carry #1 with me everywhere I go changing up batteries and bottles as it suits me.

I got here from all of the shameless enabling that goes on over on the Nicoticket forum. They were right :D I tried building with my other gear..no go no way, didn't like any of them. Had been using a vamo and MVP2 with aeurotanks and Protank 2's and the minis......I started with my first reo in august I believe with the rm2. I've not touched anything else except to take a big photo and try to sell all of it in one shot......to buy another reo

I started vaping on February 12, 2011.

I had been using a KR808-D1 with cartomizers. Every night I would refill the cartos. It was a month since I stopped smoking and started vaping.

I was off work due to surgery. But looking at going back and thinking that my cartos were going to be a problem. Judging how many I would need to take, how much juice I would need was hard. Also the time involved was prohibitive. I had 4 batteries so that much was covered.

Usually I was on the General Discussions threads. I had seen people discussing other ways to vape. Getting away from the typical small PV. Searching for options I looked at what each required and potential problems.

I knew that the KR808 batteries would only last so long. After that you had to buy more of the same if you wanted to still use your charger. If you switched to a different model then you would basically need to buy everything new. My stockpile of cartos would not even work on another type of PV.

The tube PV's did nothing for me. I looked at the box mods. The idea of having a bottle with juice was sounding good. So I looked at all the different types available. Most were wood. That did not even sound like a good idea. A little too fragile for me. (I know some of you are laughing about that last statement!)

I saw the REO. Checked out the site and the description. Hmmmm. Metal and built with no wires. I liked what I saw.

Now this is funny. I did not know a REO forum was on ECF. I decided on my own to go with a REO. There were no Grands on the reosmods site. A Grand was what I wanted.

I found a Purple Grand in the classy's. Good price so I grabbed it.

Finally I found Reoville. It was a wonderful place with people that helped me and made having a REO a experience of community.

My second REO was a Woodvil. I was totally wrong about the wood REO's. They are now my favorite.

I ran 510, and 306 L.R. atty's on my REO's until I dove into the RBA pool. Now the RM2 is all I use.

I have been very fortunate to watch many new Reonauts join the ranks. It has been a pleasure to pass on my experiences and help when needed.

Reoville, just like Robert E. O'Neil and the REO is why I am still around on ECF and still more than satisfied with my vaping experience.

Karen, when I originally read this I thought you wrote, "I dove in the REO pool", then went back and re-read it again... After thinking it over it should've read what I wrote, with the collection you have... That would've been the understatement of the decade though...

You are truly one of Rob's most valuable assets in the game we call vaping, and are greatful to have you among us. I think it's people like you, Jan, Lisa, Wayne, Russ, Darrell, Dennis, Lauren, Tim, Tripp, Paul, FB, AC, and quite a few others I have regretfully left out here, that make REOville what it truly is...THE BEST DAMN VAPING COMMUNITY on the net... Thank you....

Almost forgot... A huge shoutout to the creator and ModMaster General himself... Rob... Without you this is not possible....

I've always preferred to drip. A bottom-feeder seemed like a great idea.

Combine that with wanting something for vapocalypse, something that would last forever. With the quality and reputation of the REO, what other choice was there? Although, it still took a little courage to put out that much money.

The iStick is all the rage right now. But, with my little 14500 REO, I've got even more stealth than the iStick and so much more.

REO is the only rational choice for dripping.

The Reo brought me here...literally. Never heard of a Reo before my husband put one in my hand over 4 years ago. It satisfied the one quality I needed to change my smoking habit....it had to be easier than smoking. I joined ECF simply to thank Rob, for making a device that succeeded in what I thought was impossible. I haven't looked back. :)

I started out using KR8 cig-alikes with pre-filled cartos back in November 2009. It didn't take long to start re-filling my own cartos. And then it didn't take long to get tired of cartos running dry and needing a re-fill at the most opportune moment. In the early summer of 2010, I saw a video of mod called the WetBox - it was a bottom feeder designed to work with cartos. I figured it was just the ticket, so I bought one. In reality, it was a cheap plastic battery box with a flaky switch, and its needle feed system leaked like a sieve, but I was sold on the concept. A couple months later, I got wind of the impending release of the REO Mini, made of industrial-strength aircraft aluminum, with a vastly superior feed system - as soon as I heard about it, I had to have one. And I was lucky enough to get one of the first run - they sold like hotcakes. It's been nothing but REO's ever since.

I started with egos and quickly moved to other mods wanting something that had a better battery life. I bought a ProVari and went to their forum. I really liked the ProVari and bought another one (blem V2) and thought why would anyone want 8 of these, I have one and a backup what more do I need. I asked on the ProVari forum what should I get my self for my milestones like 1/2 year, year and such? Someone said a Reo so I looked it up and found the other forum and was directed here. I came to Reo Mods forum and these fine people took me hook line and sinker. Even the owner of the company was very active in this forum. I knew this was the place for me these people were like me. I knew I had to try one, and did. The ProVari have taken a back seat in my arsenal, they are the only other mods that are left, I gifted all my others to friends and family. I'll always keep my ProVari and it's big brother Powerpro (I converted the V2 to a Powerpro 26650, it looks like an ICBM) but with 14 Reos and another coming I know what I like and will always be a Reonaut. These fine people and this super Mod made by the ModFather I see little reason to even try anything else.

I have only been vaping for just over a year and about 6 months ago I was playing with Sigelei 20w's and Nautilus tanks and the like... but one of the guru's (Andre Matthee) on our local vape forum kept talking about his REO and how great it was... he had guided me on my first 6 months of vaping but I thought he was nuts that a pure mechanical could be anywhere near as good a the modern electronic mods... and one day I just cracked in a moment of weakness and went online and bought a REO Grand.

South Africa now has over 100 REO Households and my eighth REO should arrive in the next day or so...

Yes there are a whole heap of reasons why the REO is so great like durable, maintainable etc etc... but for me the overall issue is the perfect vape I get from it with a Cyclone on top of it... it's all about the perfect flavour! Nothing else has come close for me! REO Rocks!

haha!! Can't believe you still have that stupid fuggatti thing. Should just sell it for a nice reo RDA.

Awesome posts folks. Love to see the different ways people come to Reos especially how some made it here due to the awesome knowledgeable folks we have here.

Great topic Ben, I think you keep coming back to the Reo for all of the reasons you listed. The dang things are just amazing and they produce no matter what, every time, no matter what you run through them or put on them.

I personally stumbled upon Reoville when I was starting my mech mod journey. Came across an older Grimm Green review which seemed great but I didn't pursue it at that time because he was vaping it with a 510 atty and I didn't want to go that route. Read a lot of posts where folks were asking for direction with mech mods and posted a few myself, the reviews for Reos were always glowing. Did a litte research, asked a few questions, folks told me to PM Rob and ask him directly which I did, and his response was so great I knew I was in the right place.

Bought my first Reo, a VVG, off the classies and made my way over to Reoville for the fat lady welcome. Was gifted a bunch of batteries and an RM2 by Kay and that was that. Been a huge supporter and advocate since. Only up to three Reos now but stalking a Woodville and can feel the itch for another SL LP Grand already.

The device is amazing, the people are even better! Wish there was a way to thank you all for everything you do to help each other and all of the vapers here on ECF both new and old.

Hey Ben, you mentioned you try a lot of new gear when it comes out... hadn't noticed. I have a new RBA you'd love, it's called a Fuggatti T22. I'll trade it for your new SL LP Black Wrinkle Grand ;-).

I started out with an ego-t 650 battery and a standard clearomizer. Moved pretty quick to a mvp2 and an assortment of protanks. Then an Innokin 134 just because I liked the look of it. Shortly after that I ordered a couple of 306 and 510 attys. Loved those so I wanted to try building and drippers. Bought a couple Igos, then a couple of kayfun clones. What led me to my first Reo purchase was the people on ECF always talking about how much they loved theirs. I had just started vaping in June, and had spent a good deal of money searching for the right set up for me, so the cost of the Reo made me hesitate a little, but constantly reading how great they are, I knew I had to have one. Finally pulled the trigger on Reo number one and have hardly used anything else since it arrived. Within a week I purchased Reo number two from the Classifieds, and I just know Santa is going to bring me Reo number three for Christmas. I LOVE MY REOS. I'm using the rm2 on both but you guys really have me wanting to try a cyclone.

I started vaping in mid 2010 and started seeing references about the Reos not too long after that. Back then, it seemed they were never in stock. After getting into regulated voltage and cartos then tanks... I didn't really want to use regular attys and I didn't want to go back to unregulated voltage. I was able to get a VV woodvil when they came out (boy that was a wild ride! it took me an hour to get through check out!) Anyway, I didn't care for it too much. The odor of the wood infiltrated into my juice and I couldn't use it without feeling sick. So I sold it.

Then I got into rebuildables and finally Rob put out the RM2. I was already building my own coils and using mechs so I figured it was finally time to try a metal grand. I loved it way more than I expected to. As of today, my grands were sent off to be milled down. I have a dual coil bf atty coming (pdib's nuppin') and I'm all ready to try my hand at something other than the single coil RM2s.

Hello guys,

With each year that progresses and new gear coming out I notice that I buy everything but stick to very little. The one thing that has always been tried and true is the Reo. I personally don't even know what exactly it is. The mod itself, the portability, the vape quality, the simplicity, or just everything together.

That being said, I wanted to see what brought you guys here. What made you decide to go with a Reo? What did you had before? why do you love your Reo so much? What was your first Reo set up and what is it now?

Look forward to hear some stories and how your reo setup has changed from back in time.

I am a Career Trucker. Dripping at 75 MPH while trying to steer 75,000+ lbs. down the Interstate was ridiculous. I knew I had to try something else...
So I started a thread entitled "Rough Duty Cartos ?" This was before RBA's and the like. The Vivi Nova was the hottest thing, but didn't interest me. That's when a Forum Moderator named "ClassWife" sent the first PM I ever received- about Reos Mods. I was fortunate that I found Reos Mods about a month into Vaping. Before that was a Janty Starter Kit. From BF atomizers, to BF cartomizers/ Clearomizers, to the RM2 I've pretty much stayed with Reos Mods. Tried VV Twists (they broke), was recently loaned a ProVari Mini (sent it back). I just like the ease of use, durability, and flavor that a Reos provides.

One word (or screen name). Caridwen.

We're it not for Caridwen, it may have taken much longer to find REOvil. But once here (about one month into vaping), it was the amazing REOnauts and Rob that held my hand and showed me the best way around the promise land.

My first REO was purchased in mid October 2012. I quit smoking cold turkey in August 2012. I started vaping about a month later cause I was gonna go insane (well more insane than I already was atleast).

About 9 or 10 REOs later (I lost count) I have whittled my needs down to 3 special Grands. There will be one more grand in my life in the near future and I am most excited about that one.

My unrealistic expectations have been greatly exceeded by these mods. I really only need 2 but I enjoy the added convenience of using one mod per day, I battery per day and my wicks Last a lot longer. Now I am only refilling 3 mods every 3 days rather than three mods in various states of fullness, and batteries in various states of charge.

I mod and one battery per day. One more SL LP and this kids set life barring an unforeseen theft or loss of one of these beasts.
