Quick, Easy and Cheap if you order direct from Temco on eBay.

28 Gauge:
Kanthal A1 Wire 28 Gauge 100 ft 0 61oz Resistance Resistor AWG A 1 | eBay

32 Gauge:
Kanthal A1 Wire 32 Gauge 100 ft 0 25oz Resistance Resistor AWG A 1 | eBay

I've ordered from them multiple times. Ships same day 99% of the time, received in 2-3 days. Most hobby shops won't carry Kanthal. They carry cheap bracelet wire, or beading wire which isn't really what you want to use due to the packaging not really stating what said wire is composed of (in full). Kanthal is well-known in the industry as-is Nichrome, but I've always preferred Kanthal.

the performance is the same, kanthal is more durable but both are grossly overqualified for use in an e-cig. Theoretically speaking kanthal should be easier to use with SS wick since the wire itself can also oxidize but from the little experience i have with nichrome it doesn't seem any different.

If you cant find any resistance wire you can always get a cheap toaster or a water heater and dig the nichrome out of those :p

If I wanted to go to a local store and pick something up, what would I be looking for? Can Guitar wire work?
Seriously? There are several B&M's in/around Jax. Call 'em. Start with the closest and work your way out. I'd be real surprised if none of them have any. Oh sure, you'll probably pay $1/ft, but that's just do to poor planning on your part. :D

I buy 100' spools off Amazon for like $7 each with free shipping from Amazon. It takes a few days to get, but hey...

Yea amazon is the best place for sure. I was in a local shop near me as a guy was buying 15 ft of 28g for $2.50 a ft!! I told him he could buy close to 500 ft off amazon for that amount and he replied "naw bro I hate waiting for shipping and you can never trust what you buy on the internet"

nichrome is also a little lower in resistance.

Yup, about 20% lower. Enough to have to be taken into account when wrapping coils.

I know people like that, at least they're spending their money and not mine.

Ya, they can't wait 2 days for a supply that will last them a year and save them $30. I trust the internet more than most B&Ms. He probably got a high E string for wire

Please do not use anything except Kanthal (I prefer A1 but other grades will work fine) or Nichrome for your atomizer.

Something like guitar wire is either steel or, if you're really classy, silver. :) It's low resistance wire, and not made for atomizers. The coating to preserve the wire is unknown, and regardless of that when you wind a coil you'll be making a sub-ohm coil whether you want to or not!

While there are other resistance wires, Kanthal and Nichrome are proven. Some dislike the idea of chromium wire and use only Kanthal, but I don't think anybody's ever found any leaching chromium in a dangerous form from Nichrome.

Kanthal is quite cheap in hundred foot sections on Amazon or eBay.
