Well, it's been obvious that I suck at sorting and packing, lol So we are going to have to come up with something on that issue. From an email that I sent to HG, with the discount they are giving they will only ship to me. Even tried using Trekie's distribution center line and that didn't work. So it has to come to me then I will ship to someone else.

As long as people send their name and address along with the name and a link to what they want to order, that should alleviate the wrong items being ordered and it will make it easy to print off and put in the box as invoices for the one that is doing the sorting and shipping..

If you are interested in doing the sorting and shipping, PM me with why you want to do it and how you would do it. We will go from there. Ordering is the only thing that I will do.

I know I have PP but it's not attached to anything...bank account or a CC that can be added to through PP...so I'd be at a loss unless you can pay the postage through PP...

However I do like that idea of a PP account that the individual doing everything cant get the money out of ..

secondly does it have to be a postal scale?....what about a kitchen scale that weights in ounces..
that way you get the package weight and then use the postage price calculator and click and ship through the USPS site to do all the shipping labels and paying for it (and it gives you a ton of shipping options (whether you want flat rate, or large envelope or parcel post....etc

Things w/ PP are a lot easier, IMO, with one of their debit cards. I got one, and I get cash back for purchases using the debit card as a CC. It's not a lot of money, but it helps recoop some fees when they happen. It takes a few weeks to get it, but it's easy to request it. Just click on the debit card thingy and request it. :) That way you don't have to wait for the money to get to your bank.

I think you could still do it with Paypal, Drozd. Example:
  • You have dhowardpeters' order packed and weighed.
  • On Paypal, you create a shipping label for dhowardpeters to determine the cost but you do not print it (you don't pay until you print).
  • You PM dhowardpeters with the shipping cost (add cost of shipping supplies).
  • dhowardpeters pays you through Paypal. Now you have a balance in your Paypal account.
  • When you are ready to mail the package, you update dhowardpeters' label with the current date and complete the pay and print process.
  • Mail the package.
  • The Hitch: After you're through sending all the packages, your Paypal account will still have the $ in it that you received for shipping supplies. Buy something, I guess?
I don't see why a kitchen scale wouldn't work. I think I had the biggest order in the last HG co-op, and it was still only 1 lb. 7 oz.

Yours wasn't even close to the biggest order, lol I'll let you know what the weight is on that one tomorrow.

Like I said, I'll do the ordering and cover shipping it to someone with all the orders so they know who gets what but it's up to you all to figure out where to go from there.
