What causes a tight draw (Recoiling Vivi Nova heads)?

OK curious about where I am going wrong, recoiled a couple of Vivi Nova heads, they are coming in at 2.1 & 2.5 oHms, they both fire fine, problem I am facing is the draw is tight and vapour could be better, throat hit is fine though.

What I did was I put a pin in with the wick and wrapped the kanthal wire around the pin and wick, put all into the head then removed the pin. It is like there is not enough air getting though the heads.

Anyone any ideas?

Try putting a tiny triangular notch in the plastic cup that goes over the top of your wick right above where it rests on your wick. It sounds like the wicks are getting choked by either too thick of a wick or the wick being pushed down by the plastic cup without any breathing room for air flow to get in. Just try to keep the notch small and not too big or you will get flooding. I also always did best rebuilding the vivi's with a coil wrapped around a nail or bit, then feed a thin cotton through it. It always worked great for me and I never had much luck doing it any other way.
