I smoked for 49 years, and most of the things I thought were old age catching to me have started to reverse. my nails are not so brittle, my mustache is gray not blond, I am starting to run again, I am not winded when I have to stack 50 40# bags pellets, and i don't smell like cigarettes. The best thing is I caught a cold this year they always settle deep in my lungs and last for 4 to 6 weeks, not so this time only about 10 days. Also as I aged my eyes went from blue to gray now they are blue again. I eat more and have lost weight, a lot more active. those projects that were put aside are starting to get done. I was ready to get old. Now I am working out, it's only been 4 months since cigarettes. You are only as old as you feel. HALALOOOOYA !!!!

Breathing, sense of smell/taste, increase in stamina, increased sex drive and stamina for said activity,I need less sleep,I'm not always tired, generally better mood.

Id say the biggest change overall is that I don't feel "gray" anymore, that's the only way I can describe it. Colors seem brighter and my brain actually feels healthy and hydrated. I always used to get constant headaches and it literally felt like my brain was shrinking and dehydrated.

Travel is now a breeze! Airports are manageable. Non-smoking hotel... not an issue. Rental cars... no problems there.

Another thing is I have completely lost all interest in alcoholic beverages. I used to drink several times a week and now it sounds yukky. It's almost like I'm a different person now.

I can kinda identify, I almost totally lost my taste for coffee. I used to have 4-6 cups a day now I'm lucky if I can choke down 1. I have 1 cup when I wake up then its either tea or pepsi max for the rest of the day.

Dang, I thought I had finished my 3rd week but I am just into day 3 of my 3rd week.

In that short amount of time I have noticed the following:

1. Snoring not as bad. (or so I am told).
2. Starting to cough up. I don't fully understand this but I think it's a good sign.
3. More relaxed as opposed to stressed. Maybe because I am finally doing something constructive with my body.
4. Able to concentrate better.
5. Wife his happy :) I don't smeel like smoke and neither does she now.
6. Haven't been taking any breaks at work. I used to take a break every hour to chain 2 cigs in 7 minutes outside in the cold weather :p
7. Overall happier.

Bought a bike. I can ride that sucker all over. No extreme breathing.
I feel empowered. These "silly" little things are crazy awesome.

I second that!!!

I am headed to Missouri for a wedding in April and my sister is making reservations for all of us and I didn't have to ask for a smoking room!!!!!

Shoot, I just carried the trash from the back yard to the curb side for tomorrow and guess what ? I didn't have to stop 3 times for each of the trash cans along the way to rest. Albeit it's probably only 30 yards distance.

Doesn't matter how far it was, it's an improvement!!!!

That's really cool Desert Rat! I have a friend whose husband has been in and out of the hospital for the last several years. He had be smoking for a good 40 years + . The doctors kept telling him he had to quit smoking and he tried and tried and tried and just couldn't do it. 2 weeks ago my friend bought him a kit and he has been smoke free for 9 days!! He can't believe it.

Yes jhodge it is very cool. I doubt anyone will do a study, but to my way of thinking the turn around is just to fast for normal recovery. Just maybe the juice is beneficial, 49 years of destroying my body seems like it should take longer to notice changes, some of which are rather amazing. It wasn't until I started reading this thread that I even realized some of the changes. like the eye color, I went to the mirror to check the whites of my eyes and realized my eyes were back to blue!! Now that was a surprise

The biggest difference that I notice is that I don't wake up coughing my lungs out. I would cough so hard and loud that I would wake my whole house up and cause my family worry about me. I am only 35 so it worried me a lot too. Not only in the mornings but throughout the day, I haven't noticed myself coughing at all... I still smoke a cigarette every now and then, but I have cut down about 99% of my burned tobacco intake.

I am 32 yrs old, smoked a pack a day for 16 yrs. The major difference that I notice is the coughing. It has completely gone away. No more waking up and coughing up all kinds of nasty stuff. My endurance is much better. I have been working out consistently and just this past week was able to run for 8 minutes straight on the treadmill. When I smoked, I was lucky if I could run for a minute. I have been off analogues for 7 weeks. YAY!

I'd written this thought down the other day & this seems a good thread to share it...

I didn't realize what I'd lost. Not until I suddenly found it again. How the breeze can carry that subtle scent, that reminds me of...california, for some reason. It smells so good. Or the other day when I went for a walk with my daughter at dusk. The crisp spring air smelled exquisitely sweet, like I should have been standing in the middle of a thousand flowers, but actually not a flower in sight. The air so sweet I could almost taste it.
My God, this is what I've missed all these years of smoking?? I'm so glad I've finally arrived here, likely exactly where I'm supposed to be...
