What devices go well with a chocolate vape?

Hey ECF, to speak frankly, I'm a big chocolate vape fanboy. For me, chocolate juices seem to give me more of the sense of a truly good tobacco than anything I've tried on the market. There's nothing better, to me, than a juice that tastes like a warm cup of hot cocoa.

Yet, I have a lot of trouble with chocolates. My recent juice, Cafe Cocoa from Halo (a darker tasting blend that still is supposed to have light, creamy notes - even tried it out in-store giving it a Good News! review) seems to taste like a burnt popcorn kernel in virtually any device I try. CE4/5's, the Aspire, the Protank II, Aro Tank, none of them seem to display this juice as anything but burnt.

What are your set-ups for cocoa juice?

You need something more serious, that you can fine tune for your needs... an RDA or RBA.
Perhaps a Nimbus, or Kayfun or Russian 91%. There are clones if these if you're on a tight budget... and you will benefit from something a bit more than a regulated eGo battery, be it a VV-VW APV or mech mod, if you don't have one already.

And I do have a VV battery, I generally use the highest resistance heads that I can find.

None that I've tried... other than maybe Ikenvape cartos in a carto tank. They have 2 3mm transfer holes and do well with thick, dark and sugary juices. Saying that... don't expect them to last more than 3-4 days as just about any above described juice will gunk up and caramelize on the coil.

Pick up a IBTanked carto tank in what ever diameter suits your mod, and either some Ikenvape 2X3mm punched cartos, or some Boge "laser slotted" cartos from Sure Vapes.... $35-$40 and you're in business.

I'd go with "LR" which with cartos, is 2.0Ω. I'm not a big fan of XL tanks and cartos, preferring the 35mm carto and matching "standard length" tanks. If you need help with specifics, let me know... I'll aim you at the exact tank and cartos you'd need.

The reason I haven't dipped my toes in cartomizer tanks is truly the different language I'm seeing lol. If you do have any direct links saved up, even just a few would probably get me to the point I can order the right thing and try it out.

The utterly confusing thing is: I tested this juice in the shop on one of their sitting-there-for-days disposable CE4's, and it tasted fairly amazing. It was very obviously a creamy blend. When they weren't looking, I turned the voltage up and down on their mod to see if I could get it to burn to see if it'd compare with other results I've had with chocolate blends (they deserve it anyway, they're a very bad vendor), and amazingly, the stuff wouldn't burn. It kept tasting great, and that's why I bought it. Yet it works on nothing I have.

Ikenvape is currently out of the cartos you want. log in anyway and get on their notification list.

Sure Vapes has the laser slotted Boge cartos... not as good as the Ikenvapes, but not too far off.

As to the tank. I'd suggest the 19mm... but they have a 15mm. Capacity isn't much for the 15mm, I think less than 2ml, while the 19mm is a bit over 3ml.

Just get the end cap set and glass tube only for 15mm or 19mm in standard length... and the "Handy Refilling Drip Tip/Tool"... you don't need their cartos or an IBTipsy drip tip.

Just a simple eGo Twist. Until I get some deals from vendors on reviewing batteries, my faithful Twist is what I'll be using. It's been fully tested for output and all, and after testing it out, I just haven't invested in a more expensive mod for personal use. I can't really find a scientific fault with the Twist!

the easiest for beginning with Rebuildables is the Igo-l

easy quick rebuilds with great flave and hold 16 drops so you don't have to drip constantly
and with it you can begin to pick up more of the complexities

honestly I cant even use clero's anymore without feeling like everything is lacking in flav and complexity

I have found that the new Iclear30s works well with the Halo Shamrock...The only chocolate I have found vapable

I Vape Halo Belgian Chocolate in cartos, and in a couple BCGs, the Protank 2 and the Hypertank. I think it tastes great in all of those. I have to work hard to get a burnt taste out of any of those.

Perhaps you are not priming your atty well enough. Make sure the wicks are well soaked. Take a few gentle draws without power before Vaping. See if that helps.

Any device should be able to handle any flavor if primed correctly.

Belgian Cocoa tastes like dark, slightly bitter cocoa powder in a basic tank. But the smoothness and creamy milk chocolate shines when the eliquid is dripped. You might coax it out in an iclear16 or iclear 30, but I never had luck with the Protank with it, nor the T2.

Dripping it in a Phoenix V4 RDA, and the juice came alive. Shamrock from Halo, on the other hand, which uses some of the Belgian Cocoa base, works well in just about any device.

Concerning bum juice, that's my primary suspect, but it is indeed Halo branded (Cafe Cocoa to be exact), and while the above description of Halo's chocolates held true for the in-store sample (it reminded me more of bitter cocoa powder) it still was not anywhere near burnt in their CE4. Yet in both my CE5's and Aspire, it tastes like, well, burnt .... hairs.

About the only technique across the entire field of vaping that I will admit to not having perfect control over is my inhale strength. I've seen where some say that a heavy draw can burn a new coil up in a second - then again, I've seen those same users finally give up and buy something else. I don't just huff and puff on my device, but I have tried the lightest and slowest, and then the fastest and heaviest, draw I can muster, and I see no real difference. But if I'm supposed to barely even draw the vapor into my mouth, I haven't went that far yet....

Concerning everything else, I have to state that I'm actually a veteran vaper, started way early in the vaping world, and just have been in and out of this same process, never really getting anywhere. For someone who ultimately doesn't vape much because of general device failure, I still know virtually everything there is to know and I've done well at keeping up with stuff.

But from across the board, people are screaming iClear 30, and I should be reviewing that on Monday or Tuesday once I get it in. I do have to say I'm not extremely perfectionist about flavor, but concerning a chocolate say, I would give anything to experience a bit of bitter cocoa powder instead of burnt popcorn kernels. A rather darker, bitter blend is what I tasted on the stores CE4 and I really want at least that. It wasn't super creamy or anything, just, it wasn't one of those burnt vapes from the initial judgement. It had a certain level of "yeap, this really is digestible cocoa.", some fluffiness to the flavor, if you will.
