What did I do wrong? Could be a flooded coil, but really don't know. (Newb question)

Newbie here. Bought a smok nord using NKD 100 salt 3 days ago was loving it until it started "Gurgling' and found it pretty much unusable without coughing my guts up. Googled that, and it seems it could be a "flooded coil", so Googled that, but every "fix" I've tried doesn't seem to be working. (Removed the coil, shoved tissue down it to soak up extra liquid etc etc). The fixes I tried did help a little, but not really. Bit annoyed right now because I'm currently a 2 plus packet a day smoker and after 3 days of using this I had already set my "Quit Date", because I was enjoying it so much, but now it's pretty much unusable. Feeling dumb, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Mattsid. It sounds like your pod is leaking. That's, unfortunately, a common occurrence with pods. Is your coil seated properly? How much eliquid was there at the bottom of the pod? Have you tried a new coil? Maybe someone at the Smok forum will be able to better assist you.

I never used a pod device but......Try a new coil sometimes a coil may be defected from factory...
Also since u say u are new to vaping and I remember myself cause I am kinda new to vaping also....maybe u puff it tooooo hard and make it draw much juice not giving it time to evaporate it....
Just saying ofc cause I had done that mistake at first cause I was quitting smoking and I was vaping like a madman... gl I am sure u will figure it out

I've heard that the Nord can be a bit hit and miss @Mattsid99, so maybe it's the Nord itself?

The nord is great, when it works, which they usually do for more than a few days. One thing to remember when first starting out,big you only have one device, you'll burn out coils quickly from chain vaping it. They need time to cool so as to not damage the wick. My suspicion is that the seal at the top or bottom of the coil has come loose. It should seat firmly and not leak at all for the 5-10 minutes it should sit before you try and take a puff on it.

Replace your coil. Prime it properly (a drop of eliquid on each exposed vent and a drop into the top center hole).
After you put it in the pod and fill the pod, take a few drags off of it without using power. You're ready!

keep spare coils about, might double check the pods for cracks.

I have had pod systems that do this. I feel like pods are just poorly designed. There is always an insert/indentation that sits on top of the battery. Pods then to leak unless you are exceptionally careful with them. When they leak the juice has no where to go but down into the battery. So it is a constant struggle to clean the inside connector. Sometimes its not even a leak but the condensed vapor.

So while you might find a fix to the above. I would make a different suggestion. Move to a MTL tank and get a 510 threaded device.
