I got an GP 808 Manual White Kit from my daughter and a Bass Pro Gift Card (use it in the spring to stock my artificial baits)...

I got a Wii system from my husband......I wanted one for a year and the price finally dropped......we never buy when something first comes out...we wait..just the shopper in us, I guess.

I got Wii Fishing Rod attachment and an extra controller from my son (he says I can fish all winter now) <vbs>

My other daughter got me some Cuddl Duds and two long sleeve tshirts (I hate being cold) and a John Grisham Ford County (I am avid reader, at least one book a week) and an Einstein Brain Station (I love puzzles)

My Mom gave me some money (now that is always good)...lol

And the Lord has given me the greatest gift of all!

What did you all get.....come on Vaporites, spill it....lol

I am still waiting on the Chucks that my G/F ordered for me. My dad gave me a $50 visa gift card, which I ordered 6 510 atty's, some blue foam and some 510 carts with. (I kinda want to re-try the 510's since I didn't get much outta my first one) My G/F's parents bought me a Winchester 3 pack of collector knives.

Not bad considering I told everyone to buy for my kids, and not me.

I got my son back for the holidays from Iraq. It was by far the very best Christmas present I have ever gotten.
Our family celebrated Christmas last weekend as we had to put him on a plane on real Christmas Eve and send him back to Iraq.
What I have learned this Christmas is something I have always known in my heart but that has now become real is this:
It is not what is under your tree that is important, it is who is around your tree!

GODSPEED 3/2 Strykers!!! Next time it is home for good!!!!!

dgriego, it has been a few years since my son was in the Army.......but I know how you feel. He came home at Christmas at that time and I cried my eyes out and didn't want him to go back. I know how those families feel when their loved ones are in the service. I do hope this war ends soon.

This year I am especially thankful for my youngest daughter to be with us at Christmas. She had cervical cancer and hopefully, they have caught it all.

A couple nights ago, we got a call that my son's best man at his wedding (they were buds at West Point), died from a heart attack. He was an ER doctor, 37 years old.....heart attack...so that put somewhat of a bummer on our Christmas Eve.

I hope the Lord eases the pain for all families this Christmas who suffer from illness, serviceman far away, the homeless who have no where to go and to everyone who needs the Lord's comfort.

That is wonderful crmartin. Animals are so helpless to help themselves. A friend of mine 10 years ago came to my door with a kitten so small I could fit it in my hand. She told me the cat made her way to the back seat of her car at a farm she was appraising. It was a barn cat. The owners did not care about her and she was the runt. She didn't eat as her mother rejected her and the cat was just skin and bones and something was wrong with her eyes....cataract like eyes...anyway she tried to give it away (she has allergies) and no one would take the cat and that is why she thought of me (I am such a sucker). I took the cat, went to the vet and had to have intravenous feeding started and when I took her home, I had to feed her with a tiny doll bottle. The vet said she was almost totally blind. Well, my blind, malnourished kitten (Sadie) has turned into my best friend. She is awesome and she gets around just fine with limited vision but still is quite small. Whenever I watch TV, she hops up and lays in my arms and I hold her like a baby still to this day 10 years later. She is the greatest cat, and I shudder to think she would have been destroyed most certainly if I had turned her away.

My husband's family (3 of them) take turns picking out a charity of their choice at Christmas and we each give the money we would have spent on their mom and dad (now passed away) on Christmas. This year it was St. Judes.

About 3 winters ago, we found a litter of 6 or 7 kittens.
They were just crying and not staying together.
We noticed a dead cat on the road about a block away, and realized it was their
mother. We took in the kitty's for weeks and did the bottle feeding as they were only
2 or 3 weeks old. Completely cover in fleas, which I guess is normal for outside cats.
Gave them each a bath, it turned the water into dead maroon from all the dried blood the fleas were doing. We washed them day after day until they were clean and the fleas were gone. They finally started to eat canned food after a few days and then onto dry food a few weeks later.
That was a crazy time, ugg they were so cute but needed so much attention!!!

We finally found a home for all of them and I think the last one went a few days before that paticular xmas. Many children must have been happy to get a kitten for xmas that year.
