What did you vape before a Reo?

I've been talking to alot of ya & am wondering what you used before a Reo & do you still use any of it? A month ago I just bought 3 attys & a KFL+V2 & am wondering if I will want to even get a tube mech, 30W mod or something to use all this top fed stuff lol. Obviously you can't tell me "if I will want to use something else" but just curious if you all use anything else? This might be a stupid post lol... I obviously need backups so wouldn't hurt but, then again if Reo is as good as I hear, won't want any back ups but Reos lol... Did this post make sense?

I've been vaping for 3 years so I've tried most of them. After destroying most regulated mods with 6 to 9 months I switched to cheap ones my last was eVics . Notable ones would be Darwin & Provari. And after trying all the tanks and like, wound up just dripping in Cisco atties.

My backup is Reo, it's backup is a Reo and so on :toast:

Prior to the reo my go-to setup was a nemesis and kayfun, with a Igo atty for dripping. That, my friend, was after many, many devices and toppers, and I thought vaping couldn't get any better.

Couldn't have been more surprised and delighted the first day I had a reo - different league... heck, different sport.

Like you're going to hear in the coming posts to your OP and the beast has said above, the backup for my reo is a reo (whose backup is a reo...).

I guess I could've just said... What do you use for back ups? I can't afford 2 Reos & will have all my bottom fed attys. Instead of "what should I do", what do you do for backups & your old top fed gear before having a Reo?

How to approach this? Just see what happens. If you go down a similar path as I you will quickly lose interest in all the "other" and... just stop using it anyway.

And while you aren't using all that other stuff you will probably find out how bulletproof a Reo is. Short of needing an extra spring in case you dead short it you will lose a lot of that backups for your backups for your backups anxiety. Extra batteries and a charger - of course. But mystery switch problems, stripped threads etc. - just aren't Reo problems.

Then you take a look at what you can recover on the stuff you aren't using by seeing what stuff is selling for in the classifieds. You need to get verified to access that part of ECF. => http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ember-explained-more-detail-faq-included.html

Then you sell that stuff to raise funds for another Reo. :)

Don't get me wrong - if you do have an RDA you absolutely love, by all means keep it and use it. But chances are that bottom feed bonus of a Reo is going relegate a non BF atty always to second place.

Yeah, I have this feeling buying a Reo is going to be dangerous for me lol. Well not me, my bank account lol. I guess it would be like driving a kick a** car & saying ahhh I will only drive it sometimes & go back to my cheaper dented car during winter... OR something like that. Tonight was the final straw with my KFL & mech, won't bore u with details. Look foward to clicking purchase when he has 1 of the colors I want back in Stock. Thank you all, Reo wasn't even a thought & so glad I listened to all of you & did my research. Will keep ya updated:)

You might shoot Robert Redeyedancer a PM, sometimes he has color combinations that he just hasn't had time to put up on the site yet.

Oh, you don't have to wait for the web site. If there is a color you want and it shows not in stock at the web site PM Rob from here, e-mail from the web site or just give him a call. He's always busy making Reos so asking for what you want in a color choice is no problem. Rob will let you know when it can be ready. If you are committed let him know everything you want to order - so it all shows on one invoice with only one shipping charge. When it's ready Rob will send you a PP invoice, pay it, and it will skoot right out the door. (I will get a drubbing from a gang of Porkies if I got any of that wrong.) You don't ever pre-pay with Rob - he doesn't take money for anything that isn't ready to go right out the door. None of that "pre-order" nonsense here.

You are not your bank account (sorry... I just got reminded of Tyler Durden from Fight Club there for a second).

I look at it this way....
Where I live and how I used to smoke, a brand spanking new Reo Grand would be paid for in 3 weeks of cigarette-equivalent $$$. Add in juice, batteries, wick and wire, and a Grand per month is about what I was paying to smoke.

The only non Reo device I still use is the VTR/PT2 that has my absinthe juice in it. It's a very strong flavor that once in an RM2 will probably set up housekeeping in the ceramic deck and the feeder tube.

I have 3 grands, a mini woodvil, and the vtr in rotation. Back up would be the several springs and the extra RM2 in my vape box.

Cool, I will PM him. Which attys do you all like the best. I'm sure I'm gonna get a million answers lol. I want AFC & love clouds, not chaser but great vapor. Love taste too. Do most of you order from Chowder? Thinking of the Atomic or Plume Veil from him. Almost bought a Magma last week. I can only afford 1 to get me started that I will order with my Reo & I will also send him in my Zenith V2. Yay, I'm excited!

I owned - traded for - borrowed - used etc something around 100 different mods. My alter ego on another forum wrote reviews for almost 2 years.... After my first REO, I only bought 3 more mods. Two of those were REOs.

That said: I still own a couple of rough stacks. I don't use them. I'm just emotionally attached to them because that's how I started vaping and stopped smoking. I own a Kalamazoo Triple-V that does once in a while get fired up for a little dripping session. I own a mostly broken VVPV... If that thing worked like it once did, I'd use it. It has problems and I still even after 2 1/2 years have a little anger about those problems... I'd love to type a rant, but it just isn't appropriate. I sold, traded away, and gave away the rest. I don't even have an ego battery laying around here any more.

After the VVPV, I bought my VV Woodville. I didn't even experience desire for any other PV for more than 2 years after that. None. Not one single mod interested me even for a second. ... Until Rob said "Skeletonized REO Grand". He said that and I started saving every extra buck I came across. He had SL Grands on the site for maybe three months before I had enough in my paypal account and every day of it was spent anticipating the day I'd have the spare bucks squirreled away in my paypal to get one. A few weeks ago, I did.

So... My roundabout answer is: I almost exclusively use REOs. Once in a while, I drip a 3.0 ohm commercial atty for an hour before bed on my 5.0v Triple-V. My primary PV is a REO (SL Grand newest). My backup PV is a REO (REO VV Woodville - 2 + years old and was primary until SL Grand arrived... going in the mail to see Rob for "spa treatment" tomorrow) . And my other backup is a 14500 Mini (owned since Nov 2011... backup is a strange word since I'm vaping it right now and it has been used a whole lot ever since I bought it).

I can't actually see any evidence of *needing* a backup if you have a REO. That 14500 mini I just mentioned has been in service for 33 months and has never once failed to operate. It has never once given me the slightest bit of trouble. It has worked every single time I pushed the button for almost 3 years now. ... If you have a "back up", I think it should be just as durable and reliable as the device it's "backing up". That means another REO.

I got into bottom feeding relatively early. Started on 510 stick batteries with reg. 510 atties. I moved onto a 14500 BB within a month. That thing lasted a few months until I discovered the Ali'i from R&R Manufacturing. It was a highly sought after bottom feeder way back when. I moved on to a Reo Grand fairly soon after they were introduced for durability reasons. Best move I ever made. I've been happily vaping a Reo for over 3 years and they (2 Grands) are the only equipment I have.

Chowder is good. He know his Reos, knows what he's doing with atty conversions, is willing to work with attys you already have if they can be converted.

From the Reo menu I think your best choice based on your wish list would be the RM3. (Guys, help me out there if I'm wrong about that. Papa would know...)

I'm lamo - I just stick with my single coil RM2. :p Gets me where I want to go.
