I don't understand the criticism and backlash this thread has received. I believe E-cigarettes have practically no health risks. If you still get the buzz of a cigarette with no health risks, whats the problem?

I'll spill the beans.

One of the reasons that the FDA are sticking their noses into e-cigs & considering a ban is because of a concern that non-smokers will start using them & become addicted.

So naturally, when you come in here as a one-cig-a-day smoker (almost a nonsmoker), people freak out a little.

But I disagree with that kind of response. I think we all understand that these are appropriately being marketed as a smoking alternative - not a smoking cessation device.

So whatever. If you want to try it, it's perfectly legal & I find it pretty damn enjoyable.. and if it can replace your one-cigarette-a-day, then that's great.

Sorry Rio, the jury is still out. There simply is no evidence either way of the long term risks associated with vaping.
But if you continue asking, you're bound to find someone who'll tell you exactly what you want to hear so you'll feel better about doing what you're going to do anyway.

Lots of FDA approved products out there with "practically no health risks" that ended in tragedy.

I've got to go with Michele here... "1 cigarette a day?"
Don't walk away... RUN!

Peace... :)

Nicotine is the only psychoactive chemical in cigarettes.

Rio - we no longer get the "buzz" you're looking for - not from analogs, not from PV's. No buzz - nothing.

I continued to smoke for 25 years, not because of the buzz, not because they made me look cool in front of my friends, but because I had to have tobacco to feel normal. If I didn't have my cigarettes, I turned into a moody, pissy, psychotic b!tch.... in order to FUNCTION I needed tobacco....

there's your defination of an addict.... substance=normality.

Vaping has no KNOWN health risks - and I'm going to say it again, in big bold letters

VAPING HAS NO KNOWN HEALTH RISKS

Only because they haven't been on the marketplace long enough to find any....

As for the pap about nicotine being the only psychoactive element in an analog - time to come up from under that little old rock and smell the smoke....there are 4000 chemicals in a commercial analog (that the tobaccon companies will ADMIT to) - nicotine is NOT the only one with addictive qualities. If you want a specific list of all the chemicals in a cigarette, there's one on this board somewhere - just have to go dig it up.

You come to us, a next-to-non-smoker, and get angry with us when we TRY to tell you NOT to do this - please listen to us.... we are your voice of reason here - each and every one of us has battled tobacco addiction for the bulk of our adult lives. Each and every one of us has, at one point in time, cursed our innocence and naivete in picking up that first cigarette.....

I'm adding my voice to the others here - and begging you: forget about the buzz ..... forget about the PV's ..... forget about being young and indestructable ..... and STOP SMOKING!

Else 1 leads to 2, leads to 5, leads to a pack, leads to lifelong addiction....

I'm not just asking till I find the answer I want. I was under the impression that nicotine gave smokers a feeling. Most of you don't seem to tell me anything either for or against that, but instead just tell me to not smoke.

I'm not getting angry 8-o

It's just irritating when people deny that there is any feeling with cigarettes, when I've experienced the opposite. I know there are many chemicals in tobacco, but nicotine is the only one that is addictive.

Nope. No feelings. No buzz. No euphoria. No nothing.

But...if I don't smoke, then there is severe anxiety, irritability, fidgeting, over eating, headache, and more.

Ok... getting a better picture on what you're looking for: the buzz you describe DOESN'T LAST. Once you get used to an addictive product, you need more and more of it to get that feeling....and then you "top out." You don't get the high anymore..... no more buzz. Now, you need the addictive product for normality.

You're still on the early stages of tobacco usage - where you still feel the effects - this is your body telling you that what you're doing IS NOT GOOD FOR IT. Listen to your body and stop.... again .... please!

to post a question. I'm new. I wanted to know if my smoke 51 battery is charging properly. I screwed it into the usb thing, it's in my comp., the light on the end flashed three times....... don't know if that's how it's supposed to be.
I didn't get an instruction manual. They're supposed to send me one.

If the battery flashed when you screwed it in and the charger light turned red, then the battery is charging. When the light on the charger turns green it is charged.:)

Rio, I will answer your question. Most of us have been smoking for so long that we don't get "buzzed" anymore, you only get that in the early stages. Pretty soon, you're one a day is not enough, then two is not enough, then you have to have 3 to just feel normal, then you can take into account the the other part of the addiction "oral fixation" for alot of us that is as strong if not stronger than the nicotine addiction or the other chemicals in regular cigarettes. Just wait until you find yourself sucking or chewing on a pen because you NEED something in your hand and mouth to calm yourself. All of the above are right in telling you DON'T Start. That said, if you are of legal age no one can stop you and you will have no one to blame but yourself if you do, but, if you have any semblance of maturity in you, you will at least think about what everyone here has tried to tell you.

I may be wrong, but I believe nicotine helps with "focus" or concentration and has a calming effect (I have a frantic, whirring brain!). But the "buzz"? Nah, that's a beginning smoker's body/brain saying it's oxygen starved and that dizzy sensation goes away FAST as the addiction sets in and you get used to smoking. As everyone else here has said, DO NOT START SMOKING TOBACCO. It will not get you high.

I started off yelling at this guy for wanting nicotine, and after thinking about it I believe now I am completely wrong. I appologize.

The truth is Human Being like drugs. All people use drugs. Alot of people use drugs for recreation. I saw some studies once that said the only reason they could find for so much recreational drug use, is that our brain are so big we need something to stimulate them in a way normal life does not. Makes sense to me.

I have allways believed all drugs should be legalized. This is a free country and you should be allowed to do what ever you want, as long as it dosen't impeed my freedom.

So get a 510 zero nic. or 48 mg what ever you want to try. I like 24mg RY4 taste great. Have fun life is yours to live.

The Buzz from cigerettes is nothing much. There is a whole world of smokable interesting things upon this Earth, have fun.

It's not just the dizziness though. It's a feeling in your head that's difficult to explain, and it persists for a few minutes after smoking too.

Does nicotine give you a buzz? Yes. Will e-cigarettes give you a nicotine buzz? Probably, since you only smoke one a day. That being said, I remember when I was young, how I thought I was only going to enjoy myself for a couple of years and quit by time I was 21... I'm 28 now. It's your body do what you want, smoke, don't smoke, jump off a building... No one's trying to be angry with you, we're just trying to share our experiences and save you agony down the line later. Believe me when I say this, it is agony, trying to quit eating would be easier than trying to quit smoking. And that's an understatement.

To answer the question to RioFantastic, no, you do not get a buzz from an e-cig, but you'll only know for yourself AFTER you buy a device and see. I won't give you any recomends, so don't ask, but the BUZZ you get every month from opening your amex bill will knock you on your ....

I've already settled on a 510.

I can't believe how many of you feel nothing when smoking. Can you not remember how long it takes for the nicotine hit feeling to go away?
